Hi all

I've never bought a lawnmower so I don't know what to look for. My lawn isn't the biggest and leccy is close by so corded is the way to go, but beyond there I'm stuck. I'd like grass collection as I'm bored of raking maybe not super wide as I've got lots of innies and outies but what else do I need to look for? A few trees drop twigs and the soil is not very level so a strong blade seems a good idea but I can't see any website saying whether they all are flat rotating blade or cylinder type blades but I want metal for longevity. Any recommendations?
Thanks

Edit: I'm looking to spend around £100

I often think it’s a good idea to go to one of the more up market garden centres that have their own dedicated mower section - usually the chaps working in there know their stuff and offer a repair service too

where's the yellow pages?

Most of the older decent brands like Flymo or Qualcast are poorly made Chinese rubbish these days with puny little motors well under 1800W.

Yeah, I've heard the same and my browsing is showing some pathetic 900W 'beasts'. I doubt they'd knock the head from a dandelion in my garden hence asking for help. argh! The one I'm using now was left in the garage 11 years ago when I moved in and is finally showing it's age (was several years old when I moved in).

I love my Cordless Bosch Lawn Mower :)
There not cheap ( What things are cheap these days :() but are far less hassle then using one with a cable..

I bought a Bosch one for double the price of the Aldi one and was surprised as the relatively poor quality. The motor then failed after 2 cuts and I returned it and bought the Aldi one. I bought the Aldi one and it has made light work of my lawns. Its not the smallest though if thats a consideration. Collects well and adjustable heights, for 80 quid it was a bargain really.
