Can someone guide me towards a setup...a rig?
What would be needed?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I understand a 26" LCD 4k monitor will be needed...and a 4k capable graphics card...can you please offer any advice?

are you going to DIY? or would you want a prebuilt?
also, is it exclusively to watch 4k media? - if so, what is the maximum size screen you can fit?
budget?
would you prefer a small build to tuck away in the living room?
wifi?

Thanks 4K8KW10

Hi Tamzzy....i'd prefer a prebuilt.
Exclusively to watch 4K...yes...don't really want or care about gaming...little bit of photoshop editing....would be cool!

Monitor 34" max
If I had a tower would it allow space in future to add an upgrade....?
Audio and video is of utmost importance for me.

Aorus boards have best onboard audio and connections then any other board vendor .

then you've got the issue if your going to be set up for Dolby Dogital/DTS or just using TV sound

should be £50-80 for OCUK to build it for you plus £100 for windows 10

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £461.24 (includes shipping: £12.30)

audio ability on the board is only outclassed by more expensive flagship Aorus boards .

kept the build above small ^ enough grunt for photoshop

Thanks orbital...where would you steer towards for a 4K monitor...?

The lack of answer and offer for a 4K monitor, plus the mention of photoshop when you need it for watching 4K movies, just shows his intent of NOT helping you.

Or would people use tv screens with their PC setups?

It depends on your personal preference if you are willing to... What exactly do you want.

I gave you the Asus VP28UQG 4K monitor that supports 1 billion colours and you must be happy with it.

Why are you looking for something else and did you see it, at all?

hey 4K8KW10...am so sorry! i missed the 28" you threw into the mix!
Would overclockers build that system? How much would it cost to built by them...also could you bump the monitor up to be bigger?

Hi,

Well, one of the previous posts say OCUK take around 50-80 quid for assembly.

This one? 32-inch?

Another quick question on this order. 2 x 4GB modules....would it be worth spending the extra £30 or 40 for 2 x 8GB modules?
Or would money be spent better elsewhere...it wouldn't enhance or be needed for 4K video playback..?

You need 16GB of RAM. Don't take only 8GB. Nowadays, even simple tabs in the Google Chrome eats hundreds of MBs.

Which 2 x 8GB RAM modules will i go for.
The 16Gb version of the memory already listed wil do the job and is in sale:

Additional: *You need to remove that competitors link before the mods give you a slap - it's against forum rules. You could link to the model within their respective manufacturer's website if you want to make it easier for members to compare.

Damn! Yet again confusion...! I wasn't looking at 4K8KW10's order for the RAM...i was looking at the other one!! Apologies!!

Films and TV...NOT games...correct!

I don't know. What do people tend to do...? Not going to be watching terrestial TV...no aerial coming into it. Everything will be IPTV...movies....netflix...streaming...etc
I just automatically buy a monitor to pair with the PC?

If your plan is to just use it as an HTPC - then i would defiantly get a TV.
