Console gamer who wants to make the switch...

Sorry, manic googling to save any exasperation. I have three fans at the front each one has three wires which go to a connector (as seen in post #135, the ones in the palm of my hand) that then return to the circuit board-thingy below the power on switches and fan speed controller. There is then a two wire cable that emerges from the same controller and ends in a RX03 cable, which is now plugged into the PSU

So all powered by a single molex and can be controlled? - great!

Once fans are conected - and not crucial that they are for testing:

Double check all your connections first, especially 24 pin, CPU power and that the fan connector is plugged into the motherboard cpu fan header.

Then check PSU is switched on - and at wall - once happy, then power on and repeatedly press DEL key when the "Press DEL Key To Enter Setup appears" on the screen to enter the BIOS.

Also, check monitor is connected to your card and not the motherboard (easy rookie mistake). And that the monitor is on and set to DP or HDMI - depending on your output.

Monitor temps and post back immediately with numbers.

Oh, lights are on fans are spinning. I'm faced with this, monitor wasnt turned on (eek!) was I too late in my DEL hitting?

On that last screenshot it seems I have only one fan working - is that because the other 3 are not connected to the motherboard, so its unable to read them?
Yes, motherboard can't monitor them as they're not connected to it - there powered solely by the PSU.

Great.

Do you have a Windows 10 USB stick ready - or do you want to play with the BIOS, look around but only press ESC and quit WITHOUT saving at the end?

@MrBraindown - probably best we do the rest tomorrow - install and then set up the BIOS/memory.

We may load optimised defaults, before Windows install, as i'm a bit suspicious that your BIOS is the latest version (it's been out less than 2 months) - and if it's a return (don't worry if it is - as it works) - the BIOS may have some odd settings from the last user.

Was the board from Rainforest?

Your silence is disconcerting...

The fact that this forum only allows me to post 15 messages in 24 hours before disabling my account is disconcerting! This is what happened last night when I was trying to post back about my Win10 USB stick! Can I 'upgrade' to get a larger message quota?

I've installed Windows, I imagine I need to do updates this morning - I'm working from home today so at least I can set them off and running. What sort of things will I need to check on the BIOS? Oh, and yes, the motherboard was from the rainforest, is this concerning?

I also need to do some serious cable management as well!

Ah, it's because you're so 'spangly and new' and, as such, an unknown quantity: to be evaluated and assessed and therefore by default cannot be trusted! (I presume they do it so that new members don't spam the forums to get free p&p. Unfortunately, as is the norm in life, the few idiots have spoilt it for normal members, such as yourself.

I thought you may have had some minor melt down due to fault/damage... Glad to read you're mentally untarnished.

I would have added to only Critical Updates - but if that ship has sailed, don't worry.

Install, the latest chipset drivers, WiFi/LAN drivers, and audio direct from the motherboard site - be sure to select Windows 10 64 bit (assuming that is what you installed). Then install the latest whql 2070 drivers - straight form nvidia (only install the drivers - not geforce experience).

Let, windows carry on doing it's critical updates - may take a few hours - look out for restarts.

Oh, and yes, the motherboard was from the rainforest, is this concerning?
Just a guess, and may be the reason your BIOS is bang up to date. Agian, don't worry about it.

I also need to do some serious cable management as well!
I can imagine.

It's actually gone relatively smoothly - to date...
