It will but that's because most people who want an Xbox One S have one already. It shows that they're testing the water though, it's the direction they want the market to go in, they want an all digital future.

Doubt it long term tbh, the future generations of gamers (today’s sprogs) will find putting a disc in a slot to play a game totally alien, much as most wouldn’t buy a CD to play music any more, my daughter is 22, she doesn’t own a single CD, at her age I had hundreds of them.
It’ll be log into your chosen game streaming service, sit down and play on your TV which will effectively be your PC/TV/Console combined into one.

Optical discs are dead but I think Sony will try and cling on to them to the bitter end.

Most here seem to hate twitch but I think it's pretty good. It has certainly replaced the majority of my tv viewing.

Who doesn’t have broadband in 2019? I live way out in the Shropshire countryside and have super fast broadband.
As for second hand game market, if Sony/Microsoft can sell games for £50 which can’t be re-sold they are going to do it as they can make a lot more money that way..

I use my PS4 for Netflix, Prime and Bluray. I'm sure a few others do too, I think it'd be silly for them to ditch the Bluray drive, especially if they want to backwards compatibility.

That said I got used to digital copies well before digital services took off, I've just swapped illicit copies for legit ones.
depends what you mean. myself, and probably a lot of others have BB but it's ****ty slow. virgin cable don't do my area so BT/Talktalk fibre is the only alternative, price and reviews make me leery of that option.
what's the illicit copies scenario like with modern consoles? I haven't considered illicit copies since OG XBOX

bout what I get. not a gamer, but when you want to download the Star Citizen demo and it's 36gig+, it's not really amusing.
