Console gamer who wants to make the switch...

Oh, and use you allotted 15 posts wisely (you're like Aladdin - but the analogy ends there as i'm afraid i'm no Genie)

*Good to know i can hurl insults freely after post #15 (post count 55) without immediate recourse... :D

A big thanks for all your help, I really enjoyed doing it, but it was great to know that you were on hand for advice - I never would've managed it otherwise!
No worries - pleased to read you're not stressing (a lot of new builders do, when coached via a forum).

My replies may be a little sporadic during the day - i'm working from home too, but lots of calls today (hence my, on the fly, edits)

*Just thought, as you're 'postally(sic) challenged' - you could edit some of your posts with new updates/questions as this won't affect your post count. (You have more wishes, i am a Genie!). I'll try and remember to refresh...

...i may forget.

EDIT: Try adding @Plec within the edit - i should still get an alert.

@mods - I'm presuming the above is OK and doesn't flout any rules as this doesn't affect post count/spam etc and he is seeking legitimate help?

Well, I've had a trouble free evening, I've sorted all my cable management, put the side panels back on and my god was it satisfying to peel off the protective plastic! Also, its been great just sitting in the dark with my PC on, those white LED fans really are the business... I can now see why @orbitalwalsh really digs that case!

My cable management was ok, the only issue I've got is what to do the cables that lead to the GPU. As I used two separate cables there are a few redundant 'heads' bobbing about and because the cables are quite stiff and chunky I struggled to bend them anywhere!

Well done to the OP and the support shown by all to support a new forager into the world of PC gaming. You will never look back my friend. Well done on the build!

It was great fun, I thoroughly enjoyed myself - and I really didn't think that would be the case. The support on here was fantastic, from the build suggestions, to the component advice, plus all my build questions were answered so quickly! (And maybe my next one will end up being a Mini ATX)

Zipties will help if they are too stiff to just bend and stay in place. Just tuck the spare connectors below the connectors in use, and ziptie them (not too tight).

Just need to source a Win10 Home license key now and I think I’m all sorted!
Google is your friend - but look at a few and read user experiences.
8 more now and then you can give me both barrels!
First time build, looks good - kudos. You did that all on your tod without guidance (You had to - you were gagged.)

Although, that wire below the rear fan is bugging me...

been enjoying reading through this thread! - i'm looking at doing something very similar to you in the next few weeks once i sell my gt72 2qe msi laptop & move back into the world of desktops.

Picked up some good information :) nice job

Looking back its been quite a journey and great fun! I peaked this evening when in Assetto Corsa I drove around a mod community created track, in a mod community created car, all graphics set to ultra. It looked amazing, it'll look even better with an improved monitor, but that's for another time. My time in the PS4 sphere seems many lifetimes ago already.

this thread has also been very useful to me as i am doing a new ryzen build with the same MB and PSU. I think i followed everything but the fan installation seems confusing to me. My case will be the HZTX H500 which comes with 2 fans. can someone confirm where they should be plugged into the MB
