Hello guys once more
Im running my new build and new loop for about a month more or less and I'll show you in the pictures below 2 photos before and now

That was when I first built it

Thats how it became after a few weeks (Now)

As coolant I changed it to a Mayhems Ultra Pure H2O and was planning to add biocide and inhibitor after a while (after following the advice of some people)
Could someone tell me any ideas what could that be? Corrosion? How did it happen, What caused it, and what are the effects of it on my system?

EDIT: Temperatures are great (i could even say better than before, i get lower temps on my overclocked R7 2700X @4.2 , than the temps on stock settings when the liquid was fine lol)

Thanks in advance
Nick

Would be a good idea to drain it all and clean everything before adding new coolant with additives...

Probably bio issues but hard to tell with that picture, not sure why you would wait to add the protection of inhibitors... were you waiting for it to go bad first, they can’t do their job if they are not there. It could also just be the old coolant clouding it but again pics hard to tell.

When you said you would add biocide and inhibitor later you said it would be a few days. Not that the loop would be run unprotected for 2 weeks.

The advice you were given was that mayhems H2O is just pure water and has no inhibitor or biocide in it and that it needs to be added. This was stated several times.

I would clean the loop and scrub the blocks before refilling with fresh fluid. Be sure to include biocide and inhibitor as suggested this time. It could just be cloudy from not being flushed previously but personally I would drain it down and scrub before starting fresh to be safe.

Thanks for your reply.
Please dont get me wrong I didn't mention that as it was the fault of the ones who gave me the advice or something.
Yeah your advice was that I can delay it a few days but I kept it a lot more because of many reasons. Computer wasnt working for many days and silly me was thinking that it's not gonna be a problem but.. anyway.
I opened up the loop drained that beautiful green shaded water and as much I can see no sign of corrosion or any other crap whatsoever. Could it be (lucky me) only on the water? Or is there definitely something wrong inside in some parts that I cant see?

And how should I flush the rad and blocks do you think? Just distilled plenty of distilled water ? Cause I read some stuff for vinegar / soda etc and I'm not quite sure.
Thanks in advance
Nick

get the mayhems blitz kit......follow the instructions, don't let other reasons cause you to not :p you likely just got some form of biological bloom has occurred in the loop. a good blitzing (follow the instructions - remember that part) and you'll be good.

on a side note - do you really have blue fans, white fans, purple fans, white led strip and a red colour scheme going on?! i know colour schemes are subjective but for **** sake man that looks like some has pooped a rainbow inside your pc!

anyways, mayhems blitz.....and follow the instructions :D

Will do thanks for your advice.

Regarding your side note a white red (black) scheme is what I'm having the purple ones are changing every few secs your just got them in both photos by luck lol.
The blue fan is annoying af(it came with the case) I'm trying to find thermaltake's 140 trio rgb fan but cant find any

Thanks again

since losing a block ..eaten away I no longer use biocide or anything like it ..all I do use is a silver coil in each res .. never have a problem .. touch wood

Unfortunately a silver coil in a loop with nickel will create its own problems, so biocide is preferable.
If the blocks are just copper rather than nickel plated then a silver kill coil should be fine.

Neither a biocide or kill coil will prevent corrosion ofc; instead the latter may accelerate it. Inhibitor should be used as a basic precaution against galvanic corrosion.

The blitz kit is what i have used in the past and it has been fine for me. Others have great success with vinegar and other readily available solutions. When i clean the loop i always clean the blocks as well by hand to ensure the fins of the cold plate aren't blocked. However not everyone does and it may not be required.

If you use blitz then make sure you do not run part 1 through your loop. Part 1 is for rads only. Fill them as per the instructions and leave to stand.
Since your rads are already in use you may be able to go straight to part 2. If you do then run part 2 through the entire loop per the instructions, flush several times and then you are good to go.

Not being able to see the blocks makes it difficult to say for sure. In any case, if you go with blitz follow the instructions carefully and you'll be fine. If you choose vinegar or another alternative then there are plenty of people around that can give you some idea of where to start and what ratios to use.

After a good flush/clean you should be good. I would go slowly, follow any instructions and avoid cutting corners but i doubt very much if there is any lasting damage at all. Crud washes away and discoloration can be scrubbed clean, you'll be fine. :)

You will get more Algae/green poop even more if stood in daylight not running as when fluid is circulating it's harder for it to establish it's self as being moved
