Three Lions on a Shirt Re-Written for Women

The problem is that, after much more than thirty years of hurt, football still isn't coming home. :D
maybe by supporting the womens team more and crying less about their choice of song, england supporters might help change that. :p doubt it though, often it seems the mentality is to attack those they should be supporting.

I thought that it was just going to be "Lions" changed to "Lionesses" etc but it's like its been written by a radical feminist. If they want to attract men to watch womens football changing the lyrics of such an iconic song to be an attack on men is not really the way to go about it.

What, like motor racing and boxing? We're pretty good at those, IIRC?
Rather good at athletics too and not bad at rugby or cricket?
motor racing - the cars are good
boxing - there's **** all out there worth fighting (at least in the heavyweight division)
athletics - boring dross bordering on obscure
cricket - who gives a crap about cricket? rounders with the fun taken out
rugby - league or union? league, obscure dross/union, England are so so at best :p

i better leave now before i get flamed to bits by the athletics loving, cricket watching, rugby playing members!!

edit: that said, get behind the womens footie team - they might actually bring a trophy home!!

Nobody cares about womens football anyway,

They were demanding same pay as men not long ago............. LMFAO NO.

Well they get it in tennis so why not, at least womens footballers play a full 90mins unlike in tennis where a lot of matches are over in less than an hour as they play fewer sets, womens tennis is hardly good value for money as a spectator, it's less commercial as a result and yet they get equal pay.

Womens football is like male under 15s or so but at least they put in the same work on the pitch.

Rolling around on the floor pretending to be crippled by a minor trip isn't exactly a sport either...
could be though, not to dissimilar to WWE in many ways :p My money would be on a tag team of English Premier League players beating The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker :D

I don't see the problem with the song, or care really. I don't get why they whine about being called 'girls' tho? It's hardly derogatory, it's just an endearing term and blokes get called 'boys' just the same about.

Miles apart - WWE requires charisma and acting ability on top of athleticism. The most any footballer has managed is one stereotyped role in Brit Gangster films (Vinnie Jones) and one series of very cheesy crisps commercials!
wow, you're actually arguing against a joke! i love GD

plenty of charismatic footballers - tonnes in fact, if that's the path you want to tread. as for acting, watch a premier league match. you'll see all the acting you want. i imagine not many move into films due to the requirement of having to learn and memorise lines - when you've the IQ of the average greenfly but several million in the bank it's probably hard to motivate oneself to learn anything. p.s. Vinnie Jones has been in several films non Brit Gangster related - mainly utter gash mind you but the point stands all the same.

The few lyrics in that article I thought were alright and to the point and not anti man. I guess it is hard to find words that rhyme with the modern day keywords like "empowering" "privilege" and "balance", which would have turned me right off if they were shoehorned in.

But then I am disinterested in football so don't consider three lions to be sacred at all.

Christ, the actual song and video is awful though.
