Upgrading my Old PC :D

Ok so i currently have this
I5-3570k
Z77-ds3h mobo
Zotac 1050 ti
16 gb ddr3 ram
1tb and a 500gb hdd
250gb ssd
just wondering what i could upgrade but trying to keep in still ddr3 as cant afford the jump to ddr4 unless someone can show me a decent deal.
currently do game on this pc but just would like some extra out of it cheers in advance.
Or is it worth just trying to sell this setup and start a fresh if so if anyone feel likes they could give a rough price shout it out

Monitor is a BenQ G2250
PSu is 500w Cooler master

It's a tough one. You have a few choices - 2 being a progressive upgrades.

You could buy a second hand i7 3770K with a decent third party cooler and clock the nuts off it - add a 1660Ti/V56 and upgrade your PSU. This would see a marked improvement at 1080p.(But, this would be a maxing your upgrade path.) You could then save and sell your motherboard/cpu/memory and upgrade to a zen next year when prices have settled - and you would have a GPU and PSU that would cope.

Or you upgrade your motherboard, CPU and memory and PSU - MSI Tomohawk/2600/16Gb/PSU. This won't give you the boost a new GPU would but it would give you a decent base to build on for when you have the money to add a better GPU.

**But, ideally you would wait for Zen 2 release - early July.

Personally, when Zen 2 is released, i would sell your present motherboard (fetches good money second hand), CPU and memory and put it towards a better GPU when you have the money. Then i would spend your £400 on a cheap x570/B450 + 3600/X(zen 2) + 16GB DDR4 and a new PSU.

Which would you prefer?

I'd sell the lot while it still holds some value. But would wait until Ryzen drops to know which way to go.

nice one yeh i will prob wait till the new zen is out and sell the whole build and like you said go towards the cheap x570/B450 + 3600/X(zen 2) + 16GB DDR4 and a new PSU. as would actually like to do a build from scratch and a new case maybe haha. so yeh will prob wait i didnt even notice it was not that long till the new zen is out

how much would you say then i could sell this rig for like a guess price im clueless at this stuff

That's what i would do.

Had you posted 6 months ago - we would have probably suggested the CPU/GPU/PSU - but Zen 2 has changed the lay of the land. It makes sense to upgrade your core components now - and at least you have a capable GPU at 1080p if you can't do it all at once.

Asking the wrong guy - i pass on my gear to family. It's technically against forum rules for price checks but as it wasn't the main reason for your original post - i'll say in passing - a similar spec in MM went for £330 recently. But this will drop soon as there will be a glut after July when Zen 2 is released...

It's technically against forum rules for price checks but as it wasn't the main reason for your original post - i'll say in passing - a similar spec in MM went for £330 recently. But this will drop soon as there will be a glut after July when Zen 2 is released...

nice one yeh defo will prob just sell and start a fresh when it comes out and see what i can get as would like a new fresh build anyway cheers for all your help
