Morning,

I have never taken a family kids type holiday to a resort before. Have always done city breaks with the OH but want to treat the family to their first holiday together as a unit.

I can only travel out August Bank Holiday week due to work commitments so I know it is peak period but hey what can you do!

Any suggestions on places you've taken young kids under 5?

I want there to be plenty of activities for the little ones, all inclusive? salt water pools due to eczema?

Any tips on places and resorts would be most helpful. The weather must be around 28/30c and not too baking.

The short list includes Algarve, Crete, Fuerteventura, Tenerife and other Greek islands but am up for suggestions to make it a relaxing as possible break for the family.

Thanks.

Can you really not go later ? If they're not in school yet you are going to be seriously bent over whereas delaying until September will likely halve the price or give you much better quality for the same money. Your shortlist looks ok: possibly add Cyprus, Menorca / Majorca and mainland Spain for all-inclusive with pool(s).

The eldest starts Year 1 come September so was looking to come back a day or so before school starts.

Have checked dates into September they do start to tumble rapidly but can't really push into September due to my own commitments also.

I'll add the places mentioned to the research.

School holidays
Ouch.

I'm forced to, due to being a teacher.

Can't you go in like 4 weeks time?
Yea but as a teacher you get loads of time off:p (tosses the grenade and runs). My daughter started school last year but we've not been abroad since having the kids. It's interesting to see what people ideas are, I'm wanting to go abroad next year but the kids running around a pool puts me off (and I do feel your pain, I'd say prices double when it's school hols).
