Google to kill sync with photos and drive!

Words out they're killing the sync between google photos and drive! My phone syncs to g-photos which has a folder on g-drive, which auto downloads to my pc's for convenience and productivity.

They're now scrapping that. Rage

Rage indeed. I rely on cloud sync on my synology nas to back up all my photos which automatically upload from Google photos to Google drive.

They seem to be axing a lot at the moment. I get focussing on stuff, but come on. They even axed the google url shortener ffs! lol

So having the link is "too confusing" so because of the stupids they remove it. Sigh. Why not educate the stupids?

You still get free auto-uploads to google photos though. won't this only affect people who pay for additional storage on drive so their pics aren't resized?

So now that this has come into effect, does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep Google Photos sync'd with Google Drive?

Previously I relied on cloud sync on my synology nas to back up my Google drive, which contained all my Google photos. This process will still work as long as there's a way I can get my Google Photos onto my Google Drive.

Download photos, put on Google drive
