I'm tempted to upgrade. The games I have presently are struggling on my 1080. But I do not want Nvidia to release new GPU's around Cyber Punk 2077 release.

I'd wait if only I knew...
I cant see next gen coming out till at least very late next year tbh, like i said im gonna see what happens if anything friday then make a choice. I know £1150 is crazy money for a GPU but its a good deal for a top 2080ti and the FTW3 Ultra is a beast

Unfortunately the games I play mostly like ESO and X4 either are CPU limited, making a RTX2080Ti useless as with 8600K/8700K @ 5Ghz, has same fps with the Vega 64.
While X4 is Vulcan only.

The three games I have that are hurting my 1080 are: Metro Exodus, Odyssey and BFV.

At 1400p they require something a bit more than a 1080. For Ultra any way.

I have Metro at high with most settings turned off other wise too low fps.

I had the Gigabyte 1080 G1 but upgraded to the Aorus 1080ti for 1440p 144hz (i have the same monitor) I dont need to upgrade as my GPU gives great fps but i'm just never happy. Its the exact reason i stopped PC gaming 15 odd years ago lol

Yeah. The reason sold the 1080 asap and replaced it with 1080ti back in 2017. It couldn't cut 2560x1440 without adaptive sync.

Ok 699 pounds for you then

Only 30%, pft - I’m hoping the 3080ti is 80% faster

What are you talking about? I have no interest in a 2080Ti, I wouldn't buy it new for £499.

As for the 80% faster comment that's what the 2080Ti should have been with more vram. The last few gens have seen about 70% increase in performance with more vram, the 2080Ti doesn't hit either of these targets so its of no interest to me.

Well call me a sucker then but I managed to pick up an MSI Gaming X Trio 2080 Ti for £975 at the weekend.

Was waiting to see what was shown at the AMD conference but it didn’t do it for me so back to “Team Green” I go.
