Hello everybody,

I am looking to build a PC from scratch.
Primarily, I will be doing video and photo editing, but occasionally I will play games such as PUBG, Fortnite or APEX Legends.

I have no monitor, keyboard or mouse either.

Before asking advice here, I have researched quite a while about building a PC, but, honestly, I got lost in that amount of new information (for me).

Thank you for your future answers and for taking your time to reply!

What’s your budget?

@Pogimtz if you're doing any sort of hardcore video/photo editing, and requiring a full rig (inc peripherals) for £700
the innards will be pretty anaemic.
not to mention that you'd probably also want a monitor with accurate colour reproduction - and these are expensive.

@tamzzy , excluding the peripherals, what can I build within £700?

can get the motherboard (£79.98) and processor (£199.95) cheaper elsewhere...bringing the total to <£700
both from the same etailer with free shipping

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £728.14 (includes shipping: £12.30)

a bit more gaming oriented - loses 2 cpu cores (from 8 to 6), but a bump in graphics performance.
rx570 to rx590 sees about a 30% improvement in GPU power.

again, can get the CPU elsewhere for £125 currently, and the motherboard elswhere (as previously mentioned)

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £759.14 (includes shipping: £12.30)

£740 if you get the CPU and mobo elsewhere. cheap IPS screen and decent keyboard/mouse combo.
6 core ryzen + rx570. if you need to save the £40, can drop the ram to 8gb although i highly recommend against doing this. (or drop the hard drive - can be added easily at a later date)

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £795.86 (includes shipping: £18.12)

£740 if you get the CPU and mobo elsewhere.>snip<
You forgot the kitchen sink...

@Pogimtz - you won't get better performance/value for money (there's even have a DELL IPS). There may be a slight drop in Ryzen CPUs on Monday - even so @tamzzy has delivered on budget too - as original amount wasn't realistic. TBH - didn't think under £800 was...

pretty sure that stephanie peterson isn't really female. username probably a parody
LOL - very possibly - but notice he/she avoids the jibes/jokes and odd proposal of marriage etc associated with a female name... (savvy).

Still hoping for a 'she' - as will get my microwave popcorn ready if said member see's this thread :D

Kept my @ in my pocket.
