Something super is coming...

Found EVGA RTX 2060 SUPER, EVGA RTX 2070 SUPER XC Gaming and XC Ultra Gaming cards somewhere but pre-order $499 for either EVGA RTX 2060 SUPER XC Gaming and XC Ultra Gaming cards while EVGA RTX 2070 SUPER XC Gaming and XC Ultra Gaming cards pre-order price is either $599. Look like pre-order prices is just placeholder.

Here the pictures of EVGA RTX 2060 SUPER:

Probably realised that their customers knew what they were doing making only the flagship tier cards achieve SLI, for sure they'll do it again at some point.

1080Ti/Vega seems to be the only sensible options at present.

Difficult one. One has no warranty and the other is still a lot for EOL tech despite its relative performance. I was tempted by Radeon VII but I'm really not sure. Itching to get something but I'll wait for all the reviews and then decide. I don't expect there will be an ideal choice, it's high price/performance whichever route you go.

I do have a feeling the X5700XT may not be as bad an option as some people are expecting.

No news of a Ti refresh then?

only rumours of that being announced around Sept

I think the ting to remember is at any point Nvidia could announce a 7nm part/series and or including new architecture based in and around Volta. That means even after Super we might be waiting up to 2yrs for a proper successor to a 1080Ti. My personal belief is we will see some movement for the release of Cyberpunk 2077 next year and the higher-end Navi part.

Shame. Was hoping that a refresh would finally push down the prices of the current model.

But it's £450+ and barely beats a Vega 64/1080 by a few percent...

How is that anything but a terrible choice?

I can't buy a new 1080 and Vega 64 is hot unless you put it under water or undervolt. Either way it uses a fair bit of power which converts to heat and is output into the room. If I buy a Nitro+ at £389 I'm close to the X5700XT, newer tech, should be cooler running. Once you get into waterblocks and loops the costs rise rapidly.

If love there to be a simple answer but if you're in the market for a new card and don't already have a custom loop it's not as simple. The other side is what else do you buy, new Nvidia cards are even more expensive...

So apparently the 2060 Super is going to be £400 - £430...

What a world!

Lol. Isn't the xx60 class GPU's meant to be £150-£200? Nvidia have lost the plot it seems. Then again, hard to blame them as people clearly are voting with their wallets, they obviously sell at that price.

Well seems I'm back to playing the long game.

Will wait another year and see what prices are like then.

@Gibbo I take it the current Vega 56 deal is as good as it gets then... can't squeeze another £20 off?

Well those prices suck.

With AMD priceing the 5700 series as high as they have, NVIDIA have no reason to lower their prices and it looks like they just want to turn the thumb screws a bit more.

Lets just hope that a price war ensues and a little bit of sanity returns. Even though I do feel that ship has sailed and we are stuck in this rut now.

I think the kind of price war we're most likely to see is who can sell the first mid-range card for £1000+? :p

Just noticed NVidia have increased the price of the Titan V by another £100 to £2900.

People expecting these super edition cards to be reasonably priced may be in for a shock.
