Something super is coming...

12nm to 7nm EUV offers 50% perf/watt boost and is more efficient than TSMC 7nm - assuming the rumour Nvidia is using Samsung is true.

So just the drop in process size alone is going to offer a bigger performance boost than current gen

I don’t know if we’ll see 900 series to pascal 1000 performance which was nearly 100% performance boost but it will be much more than the 30% we got this gen.

I’m personally estimating anywhere from 50% to 80% generation boost from RTX2000 to RTX3000

And when you factor into that, that lots of people still have a 1080 or 1080ti and haven't moved to RTX yet - it will be a massive upgrade for them. 1080 to 3080 or 1080ti to 3080ti should be more than double the performance boost
That's why I'm waiting for the 3080ti so I can upgrade from my 1080ti

First RTX 2070 SUPER game benchmark spotted!

Nearly as fast as GTX 1080 Ti and RTX 2080, much faster than Navi RX 5700XT and RX 5700.
OOof, that's a dreadful result for Navi. Dreadful.

That’s nearly 20% faster than the 2070, most impressive!

The Navi 5700xt is also on there and it’s far behind the 2070. But interesting enough it’s fsr ahead of the Radeon VII so RDNA is better than GCN for gaming

I would not take some of their figures seriously as some of them look very dodgy.

Here is my RTX Titan running stock @2160p on the high setting which is no where near what they got.

You did a 4K benchmark, The one posted was 1440p so of course your 4K result will be much lower than 1440p lol

Why didnt they release these super cards in the first place? Were they holding stuff back to fleece people more? Holding stuff back just to taunt AMD?

That’s what Ti cards have always being for. Nvidia always holds back and only releases the full chip when it suits or when they need to

If nVidia are refreshing their range with the Super cards then I personally am not expecting the 7nm line-up to drop til Aug/Sept next year.

Complete lack of competition = no rush = process more mature = better yields = moarrrrr profit (which nVidia value above all else).

Yields and memory prices were a factor. This also means they can do some-life update. 2 years being Turing and Ampere, so a bumper up Turing 1 year in makes sense.

I was gonna say earlier that the benchmark didnt show a great indication (FF). For a start a 1070 shouldnt be beating a vega, would have to see a few more till I digested that as accurate.
