So I had put up over 20 items on ebay last week. 2 of them collection only where in the title it clearly stated the words "Glasgow - Collection". It stated in description collection only and offered no other postage option.

Surprise surprise some eastern european has won my set of logitech z5500 speakers who lives 330 miles away.

He now wants them posted. Bare in mind he won them for £40. Had I offered them for post I imagine they would have sold for at least double this.

I don't have a box which will support the 25kg weight of the subwoofer.

He is adamant I go to the supermarket get a box of them and ship it to him. I told him the box won't be adequate but he's adamant I do it.

He has now paid me £70 by bank transfer so £30 to cover postage and inconvenience. Bare in mind this was collection only for a reason. I didn't want the hassle of posting this due to weight and size.

Option 1 - Post using cheapest provider in a box with no protective packaging - there is no way bubble wrap will stop this 25kg sub from smashing all the speakers to pieces. Like he says. Likely cost me £20-£30 to post due to weight and size.

Option 2 - Refund him £30 - tell him to treat this as a lesson learnt and I pocket £40 for the inconvenience and to teach moron a valuable lesson to learn to read.

What would you do?

Let's be honest, the most fun we're gonna get out of this thread is the realization that you've been calling people morons for five pages of search results, for TWELVE YEARS.

There's certainly a moron in this thread, and it's not who you think it is, wink wink.

Sounds like a moron, and i'm not talking about the eBay user.

Ha! Jinx!

What would you do?

What has the fact that they are from Eastern Europe got to do with it ?

Why did you give him your bank details knowing full well you aren't going to post them?

who say's i'm not?

i assumed the sub weighed 15kg and got a quote based on that. i then checked the weight today and it's actually 25kg. myhermes won't post anything above 15kg. but parcelforce will. so i can post it to him no issues with it getting there.

getting there in 1 piece though. won't be guaranteed due to weight.

i think i will post to him. just so i get to keep the 70 quid tbh. teaches him a lesson and i get the money i was looking for.

we both win. i hope he enjoys a smashed up set of speakers.

Did you put it on your scales? Says on Google what its weight is.

"i hope he enjoys a smashed up set of speakers."

Really tells all about an individual. If you package them wrongly which sounds like your intention.

With parcelforce your £70 will soon be back to £40, and you being the moron you are wont package it properly and because he is 'eastern european' you believe he deserves his smashed up speakers.

I told the guy this at least 3 times on the phone. He doesn't understand. I also told him this is why it was collection only.

So no my intention was someone would come pick them up and stick them in their car.

He is the one who wants me to post a 25kg subwoofer in a box from "the supermarket"

No he told me how he wants them packaged.

He told me he wants them in a box from the supermarket.

Also please explain how do you package something like this properly? I need the original box plus polystyrene inserts. Which i don't have. And I've told him they won't last the journey but he insists on me posting them.

Which again is why i was adamant on collection only. And sold as such. I had at least 5 other people message me asking if I would post and I told them all no. But this guy didn't bother to ask and just bidded anyway.

It's only £10 quid to post with parcelforce. So I'm down to £60. I'll use some tape - £1 and print out a label - 20p. So still roughly £60 minus fuel costs to drop it off.
