Hi all

I'm currently in the process of finding bits for my new build... I've been offered a MSI Gtx 1060 6gb Gaming x GPU for £190

Just want to ask you lot if that's abit to pricey before I let the guy take my money :p

Cheers

Jeez thanks guys glad I posted on here... When he sent me a message I did think to myself it may be a bit steep especially with the newer cards about

£190 is way too much money for a old card like the 1060 6GB. You can expect to get an used 1660 6GB for about £170 which will be a lot faster than the 1060.

I would say for the Gaming X model which is a very good model, I would pay about £130 for the 1060, not more.

you didnt even need to check with the forums, just a quick google search of the going price of 1060 will have given you all the info you need..

So what do you recommend?

Bare in mind future proof is a bold statement.

Nothing in computers is -'future proof' new technology is coming out every year.

Future proof is obviously a relative term, but 6Gb is clearly less FP than 8GB - that's just common sense. This was NV cheaping out on VRAM again like they did with the 970, 2060 and 2080.

The 590 is a better card, same price, 2GB more VRAM.

Thanks for all the responses guys I've took a step and decided not to buy... I'm gonna go for a second hand 1070 or there abouts
