I currently have a Corsair H100i v.2 strapped to my 4770k running @4.2 with 1.23v.

Will be upgrading shortly to a Ryzen 3900x. Will the AIO be enough to keep it relatively safe from thermal throttling and possibly even damaging the CPU over time?.
It’s the 240mm version although I have it in Push/Pull with Corsair SP120 fans.

Thanks.

Push/pull usually allows for lower rpm/same performance and marginal noise increase, but there's exceptions.
I'm using the 14cm of the Arctic push/pull, and up to 50%, you need to try hard to hear them. Over that, the noise increases exponentially. But using one 420 rad, push/pull, and one 280 rad, push/pull, no need to go even to 50%. Didn't notice any gain cracking to 100%. The only downside, which may not apply to you is, lower rpm, less air moving inside the case, if the radiators are installed at the main intake and exhaust places. Reason why I keep mine at 50%, as the CPU and the GPU are watercooled.
