Macbook replacement screen...

Just wondering if anyone has had to replace a screen / display on a Macbook pro 15"

unfortunately I was trying to remove a damaged glass screen cover and it was stuck to the screen (no idea why..) and its destroyed the display..

They are very expensive as they need to replace the entire lid.

anything older than 2013 isn't cheap to replace parts. This is why normally it's better to claim on insurance. Get expensive toys they should be insured regardless.

I got a spare display for my wifes 2012 Macbook Air for about £40. And one for my 2010 MBP for £80.

not sure the insurance company is gonna go for the 'accidental damage' with the screen peeled off haha.. ordered a lid off ebay.. just hope its ok
