Something super is coming...

GTX 1080Ti: The Anomaly That's Killing RTX!

Can't really agree with the guy, my 1080ti is by far the most I have paid for a card. Very expensive but at least performance was there for the price. The other cards were just way overpriced and it has only got worse since!
Do not recall ever considering the 8800 GTX being worth its expensive tag but maybe I was a bigger cheapskate back then :p

Hahahaha!
No.

What absolute fresh madness is this?

The anomaly is releasing the successor to the 1080Ti at £1100, asking us to pay £400 more and include a half baked answer to a question nobody asked. Instead of releasing a card with RTX 2080Ti performance without the RT **** for £700+ inflation.

waaaah, waaaaaah - there is no upgrade from my sli 1080ti's, that's it, I'ma buy a xbox

This just makes no sense at all
Lol probably but was tired and having a whine! There is an upgrade it's just insanely over priced due to Nvidia greed, the £400 price bump for a feature I'm not interested in. If they'd increased performance by 50% for the 2080ti and kept prices in line with inflation instead of moving the goalposts then they get my money but I've been on the same GPU performance for three years Titan Xp's SLI before) and I want an upgrade.

Still rocking my 1080ti, not worth jumping on the RTX series due to increased price and somewhat poor increase in performanc v's the 1080ti.

I honestly never understood why you bought one tbh...
What is there not to understand? He had the extra disposable income set aside, he wanted to give RTX a go?

Now that he has seen what he has seen, he does not see the value in it. Something nice to have, but not at that price when you consider the opportunity cost...

Even I kind of wanted one after Nvidia’s presentation. But wait a bit to see how it pans out. Turned out to be super disappointing. The performance for RT is just not there and DLSS is for the most part trash.

I’ve never understood buying hardware blindly before reviews...that’s a mugs game...disposable income or not.

And no gfx card is worth over 1k...regardless of being an enthusiast or not...

The only people to blame here are the people buying this junk for £1200...

Can't blame Nvidia for the 1179 you paid for it. Blame yourself. You could have got a 1080ti for half of that or a 2080 for £700 or so.
Had a 1080Ti that I upgraded from. Raytracing is why I got it and something that has had me intrigued and impressed since the Amiga days but I question myself for spending that kinmd of money on it.

Same as you buying a 1080Ti in truth. Never understood that but each to their own I guess.

I have it for over half a year...and current cards are not beating it.

Others have had theirs for 2 years...and current gen cards are not beating it...

The 1080ti was a good buy wether you bought it on release or like me EOL.

Well current cards are beating it. I had one from launch (1080Ti) which did me proud for UW gaming but like I said, I am a big proponent of Raytracing and it does look amazing. I am happy with RT performance also and being a big of a geek, I knew what normal game performance was going to be like from the off and had an educated guess at RT from the off and wasn't far off.

Like I said though, looking back, I kind of regret spending that much money on it and could have added a Grand or so and had another cruise. I guess my priorities are changing now that I am getting older and gaming less.

I think my RTX Titans can do ok compared to a 1080 Ti.

Yes the top Turing cards are stupid prices.

The alternative is to leave my money in the bank, this is not going to happen as I have no desire to be the richest person in the graveyard.

Enjoy life now as you can not take the money with you when you die.
