What would be the recommended B450 motherboard for a Ryzen 2600 at around the £100-ish price point? Overclocking not essential but obviously a bonus. Thank you.

Probably the to be released Tomahawk Max, preorders for just over £100, not exactly sure on the ETA though.

I have just got this board and it's perfect for my Ryzen build, I'm sure there are better ones on the market but I cant knock it at that price... Performing well and has enough slots

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £89.99 (includes shipping: £0.00)

Thanks. I was considering that one so the feedback is useful.

Thanks. It's for my son's build for his birthday soon. So not sure if I can wait too long.

If you're going just 2600 the non MAX version of the Tomahawk will be fine. The only difference between the MAX is that it will have a 32Mb bios instead of the 16Mb. Unfortunately MSI see fit to fill their bios with a lot of superfluous stuff and graphics so the 16Mb isn't quite enough to have all that an full support for dozens of CPU's.

Out of inylterest, why is the Tomahawk Max recommended?

Tomahawk is a very good board for the £100 price point, but specifically the upcoming MAX version is of interest for Ryzen 3000 system builders, as it will be be Ryzen 3000 ready out of the box. All current B450/X470 boards need the BIOS to be flashed first before supporting 3000 CPUs.

You wouldn't necessarily need the MAX version though, if you are putting in a 2000 gen CPU, as the current Tomahawk supports Ryzen 2000 CPUs out of the box.

You could just get the current Tomahawk board, but that may be in short supply now with it getting replaced with the updated MAX. I know OcUK and a few other places no longer have any stock.

Gigabyte Aorus Elite, linked by Minibiker, looks like a decent alternative, if there are no current Tomhawk boards and you can't wait for the MAX version.

about Tomahawk max availability: i made pre-order at one of the biggest UK retailers page on 19/07/19, delivery was promised on 27/07/19. That didnt happen. Next delivery was sheduled on 30/07/19, but today i got email that maybe they gonna have it on 06/08/19... wich doesnt looks promising. At this moment i saw that some retailers sell those only in Australia and Singapure, one German seller also had one batch already. Lithuania retailer gonna have those on 26/09/19. Hungarian, and Turkish retailers also on September. Overclockers no information provided. So its only your desision to wait or no.

I'm sure you probably know the B450 Tomahawk Max is now available and for under £100.
I was tempted by the Gaming Pro Carbon, for me good BIOS support was more important than the features offered over the Tomahawk, plus it's slightly cheaper. If the Gaming Pro Carbon had a max version I would have gone for that.

i am probably missing something here reading the MAX specs (Was also waiting on MAX boards as 570 too expensive for a new build).
Max ddr4 mem 3466 via oc.
I read the sweet spot for 3700x is 3600MHz ?
