gigabyte aorus 2080ti vs extreme?.

Personally it wouldn’t touch the he arous get the zotac 2080ti has arous experience for me wasn’t great tbh zotac are the king !

You can always try it but the one I tested anyway was louder than the founders edition and the central fan made a fair bit of weird noise. Not to mention it just didn’t feel great quality compared to others I’ve tried.

Only Gigabyte card I’d recommend is the one with the 240mm aio. Waterforce I believe it’s called or the extreme with waterblock if you had custom loop.

They do a triple fan one like the zotac which has good reviews.

I'd strongly recommend against buying the Aorus cards using that "Xtreme" cooler. I had one briefly and it was insanely hot and loud. They completely nerfed the fans into the ground by shoving LEDs into them and cutting most of the blades off of the middle one. Gigabyte's Gaming model, which is supposed to be a tier down, runs a full ten degrees cooler whilst also being much quieter - probably because it actually has three real fans on it. If you want to buy a Gigabyte card, that's the one to get.

Hi so if I went for Zotacs which one. AMP Extreme Edition or extreme core as extreme core edition same price as the gigabyte one I have ordered now. The AMP Extreme Edition is abit more then I would like to pay though.

If you can fit it with plenty of room for the card this is what I would go for personally.

Msi in my opinion make the best cards in air cooled terms. This is probably the best air cooled 2080Ti available. It is large so ensure you have enough airflow and case to fit it comfortably.

Plus £1199 which compared with most other air cooled

Don’t worry about boost clock either. They boost themselves well in excess of stated with nvboost anyway. Nearly every 2080Ti will do 2-2.1ghz regardless of factory clocks.

Im asking as the gigabyte extreme is out of stock and getting some more at the end of the week. Im just asking just in case they dont. If they are getting more in I dont want to mess there stock up. I will phone up tomorrow for an update if they no there getting more cards in. :)

Don’t get me wrong the arous card was exellent looking but the thermals were terrible the zotac never hits 70 the arous hits 86 while playing fortnite.

Go for the lightning I really wouldn’t bother with the aorus from experience especially at that price.

The lightning is a MUCH better card in terms of quality, thermals and noise. They really are the best 2080Ti cards you can buy. On par with the FTW3 and strix.

They have the best fans. And the best fan control software too. Zotac and Gigabyte from experience are crap in this regard.

The strix, lightning and ftw3 are the best air cooled 2080Ti's with the exception of a few very expensive others.

The strix is a good card and has top reviews. Worth £200 more over the lightning? possibly not but its all down to your preference and what you're willing to pay.

I've always ran air cooled MSI's and tested several other brands and they still come out on top at least for me. Asus is usually very good also. I usually always go for EVGA now for warranty and or for watercooling support.

But to answer your question i would most certainly go with the Strix over the Aorus any day of the week. The strix is a far better card.

Ok thanks. I will phone up probably Thursday now and give them more time. I will stick with the gigabyte card for now as I would have had it any way if in stock. I will change to strix if needed if still not in stock and is same price.
