Hey again.
So my build has been dispatched yay! And now my wife wants one......
Budget: Cheap as possible without being junk, just needs to run comfortably. Doesn't need the latest bells and whistles.

Will be for games such as WoW and Sims 4 etc on a 1080 monitor. No high intensity fps games.
Size is key - micro ITX is it called? Anyway smaller the better.
Case would preferably be white (will be next to a white sideboard in the living room)
Don't want to pay a premium for RGB etc, don't care how the inside looks either.
No monitor or peripherals needed.

Spec me something that will do the job please!
Thanks guys :)

Hmmm around £800ish but can be slightly flexible. Just spent over £1500 on mine so times are tight haha
Yep, case and all components please.
No monitor or peripherals.

Cheers.

Does it absolutely have to be white? If not you could go for something tiny like the Asrock deskmini a300 with just an apu build using the 3400g. Or would you prefer a real mini itx system with a descrete gpu and upgrade potential?

Not a deal breaker, just a preference but open to black if it makes more sense.
Just seen what Tamzzy has specced which looks ideal tbh.

This looks great thanks.
Say I was to stretch to a 2700/2700x would that still be doable? Any cooling problems etc? Not sure how these tiny cases work:)

No worries, my recommendation was significantly smaller (petite if you will) but absolutely no where near as powerful (at probably about £300). If you go for something like Tamzzy's build, the other half will be able to play Wow and The Sims 4 at 8k!

yes. but then you're looking at 3600/x money. at this price point you'd then need to consider which is more important...gaming or multicore performance.
gaming = 3600/x, multicore = 2700/x
other thing to consider is that going ryzen 3000 route would need a mobo bios update first. unfortunately msi itx board does not have cpu-less bios flashing like its bigger brethren :(

Any cooling problems etc?
no issues in the node 304 - in fact it's big enough to get an aftermarket cooler should you want one ;)

Thanks for the suggestion, haha I'm sure she'll be happy then:)

Ah ok, most likely stick to the 2600 then if it will do the job.

That's defo food for thought and that case would actually fit perfectly (level depth with the sideboard)
I assume that board would need flashing? Would that be a simple process? Thanks.

No the MAX edition mobos are pre-flashed boards just being released, they have the latest bios which is compatible with the 3000 CPUs

Oh very nice, makes things easy.
Would there be a cheaper 1TB SSD than the Corsair? For example this, would that do the job?
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £119.99 (includes shipping: £0.00)

If you shop around, the MP510 960GB is ~£20ish cheaper elsewhere atm - OcUK have hiked the price over the last day or two...

It's much faster read/write, higher IOPS, longer warranty and better NAND quality.

Yeah I have the MP510 in my build, got it cheaper than current OcUK price. Will stick to that and source it elsewhere :)
