Hi have an ASUS Maximus Extreme board
When looking at Sata ports there is two of one colour and the others are different colour
Got a pair of SSD's to clone C&D drive onto im plugged into the two ports for C&D atmo are the other ports same speed or slower etc
Can i plug ssd's to clone to in them? plus have sata ports on the board also for rear i think?

The red ones are 6Gb/s, black ones are 3Gb/s. You can connect your ssd's to any of them but they'll run slower if you use the black ports.

Differing colour usually denotes a different controller for each. This may mean different speeds but is irrelevant as they will both do the same job. The SATA ports are presented to the OS so you can clone an SSD.

There are a lot of people on here and most are very clever. Although it has worked this time, insulting the people you want to help you is a bad idea.

Hi thanks i was wondering that might be the case but was hopeful not as want to run two OP systems.

All you had to do was read the manual.
Might help if had one!

Many thanks what hoping to do is put C and D onto a new pair of drives then wipe old ones well C drive then put Linux on that and run as browser system rather than build 2nd pc!
Trouble is done lots of these things before but if not done for while forget! as with Autism/Asperger's i'm pretty good with tech but had a stroke few years back which causes memory issues etc so drives me bonkers!!!
