Spec me - Budget 4k 60fps gaming

what would it cost to put a new build together to achieve 4k 60fps at decent detail settings in a mixture of titles?

i know its a how long is a piece of string type Q but to put a rig together to achieve the above,
ideally amd based and £1500 as a soft cap on price
 
Medium to high settings (RTX and Hairworks OFF) depending upon the game, RTX 2060 Super, TN 4K monitor, 4 core / 8 thread CPU, 16 GB RAM, job done.

I was playing at 4k on a 780 Ti years ago.
 
If i did it again I would add standard SSD and up the memory to 3600MHz - but gives you an idea of the quality you can get for £1500 for 4K:

4k on a budget is doable if you don't expect to run ultra settings. Managed expectation is the key here if you aren't going to spend top buck.

that looks a tasty build,

is the 7 not EOL now though? how does it stack up against the current AMD cards for 4k
 
2070 Super is cheaper - equal sometimes marginally faster than the Radeon 7 GPU which is going EOL already...

2070S is also cooler temp-wise, less power hungry, overclocks better and tbh Nvidia drivers are much more stable than AMD at the moment :p
 
Don't do it. Go lower resolution, higher refresh rate. I could youtube to death how this is better. Search is your friend.

338 ppi at 18 inches aka monitor and 500ppi at laptop distance (12 inches) is my claim for correct.

Rubbish, the nv drivers are no more stable than amd drivers (I run both) and in fact the 7 drivers are pretty much spot on in my experience. Unless of course you have objective proof this should be taken as conjecture at best.

2080ti is the option if you want min/average 60fps with medium- high settings with current and upcoming AAA titles or to drop to 1440p with Ray Tracing​
