Major Power Outage

I heard it’s all over south London too, trying to find out if I’m going home or to the pub, can’t find if it’s affecting SW16.
 
We lost power in Oakham, Rutland for about 20 mins. At the time we were having a thunderstorm so just assumed that was the cause. Didn't realise it was on such a large scale
 
All fine in Southampton. I wonder what could cause that as its sort of a "avoid at all costs" situation I would imagine, and I can't begin to think about the amount of work that goes on to keep the national grid working at a national level. Not good.
 
Went off in a lot of places on the Wirral too. Think it's back on now but there was a huge queue getting out of Tesco in Bidston Moss so I've missed out on my ready meal for one :p

National Grid cockup according to Electricity North West on Twitter (@ElectrictyNorthWest), seen a couple of tweets mentioning a power surge and above mentioning thunderstorms going on at the time.
