weird encounter with a police car

Hello gents and lady gents, first tims poster, long time reader..

Just trying to get some advice on something, last night i drove to my gym (Approx 21:30) when i pulled up in the car park, a minute later a police car came round the corner, came up right behind me headlights etc still on, stayed behind my car (both parked) for 2 minutes, and then drove off?

They didn't get out to talk to me or pull me over, so I'm very confused as to why i was followed? It's a car park where they'd have to blatantly have been following me aswell? Should i expect an NIP?

Welcome. He most likely was checking your plates out.

Could have had an issue with the incar checker and needed to hang around for a bit before seeing all was well and driving off.

Driving home from work at 11pm at night, nothing on the road, a marked X5 pulled out of a side road, tailgated me, so close I couldn't see the headlights. Was crapping it at what might happen, after a min, the cop turn's off, phew >_< presume they were just checking my reg on anpr, but it felt like they were pushing me to go faster

Working at night I see this a fair bit where they'll have a good look then drive off 1-2x stopped my colleagues and basically said they were the same model car as something they've been looking out for.
