Concerning return of wrong mobo delivered .. advice needed

I bought the MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX and the email showed that this was to be delivered, but I received the normal mobo instead. I called the service team to have them fix the issue and I was sent an email to confirm them picking up the normal MSI mobo and to delivery the MAX instead, but the RMA email showed me having received the MAX and asking for me to return it (instead of having received the older mobo and to get the MAX in return)? On calling back to question the service team, I was told this is normal and not to worry about it and that on picking up the older mobo to return to OC, there would be no receipt from the driver as to having received the older mobo which would be exchanged for the MAX the following day.

Long, sorry.. To me, this is not normal and should be corrected and of course I'll need to wait till Monday morning to do anything, but I would just like to hear back what you ppl think about this? (the pickup for the old mobo is set for Monday and the MAX is supposed to be delivered Tuesday)

Id be tempted to ask them to cross ship with a mistake like that, at the end of the day it wasnt your fault they sent the wrong board.
 
Yup ty.

It caught me a bit off guard as I have never seen anything this bad coming from Overclocker before, so I really hope this was a one off or maybe it's a nasty trend taking shape? :(
 
Strange that they had a previous Tomahawk board to ship out, as that was displaying as out of stock for quite some time before the listing was changed to the new MAX version.

Update: The MSI MAX will not be in until the 30th, so the wrong mobo goes back today and I have to now wait till the MAX is in, which is a royal pain. Problems happen and I really do understand this, but at the same time I am the one who is going to suffer for their mistake, when it should never have happened in the first place.

Dont it say 10+ in stock on the website or is that me seeing things.

Update: Email confirmed correct MAX Mobo to be sent -I am waiting for the support person to confirm they have set aside the MAX mobo, so it can be sent out to me soon as they have confirmed that they have recieved the wrong mobo that had been sent to me.. Such a major pain right now, so I must assume they don't have a live system (where it is updated constantly) and or few people have access to the stock system showing the eta for parts ordered. Been a very bad experience for me this time around and extra hard as I am unable to install the upgrades on my own and need to rely on my son, who has set aside time to do this for me.

Just to wait now..
