Cheapest way to buy pounds?

Revolute card .
As pound is likely to decay further might as well get a card rather than cash.

The problem is that we want to buy pounds, not foreign currency. He should've bought them before leaving saffrica but he did't so here we are. He can't do digital as he has no cards here and in Saffrica you can't get things like Clarity, Starling, Monzo, whatever. The only option we have here is buyback, the rates for which are often only given out if you go in store. The post office gives the rates online but Sainsbury's for example won't give me a rate online. Naturally, nothing is ever simple with my in-laws.

Both M&S and John Lewis have travel money sites which give the buy rates for currencies (inc Rand). Not saying you should use them but would give a ball park figure of what to expect.

Just got to one of those little foreign exchange places and do it there, there's a good one near the M&S next to Liverpool St Station.

One English pound is currently worth around 18.33 Rand. If they can wait a few weeks that will be £18.33 pounds to the Rand.
