Can someone put together for me a system with a budget of around £1000, mainly to play truck sim at 4k

Only the system is needed. No OS. Not bothered about intel/amd/nvidia. I just want the best performance for the money, any suggestions?

Do you need a monitor and keyboard/mouse? Anything you can reuse from your prior build such as HDD/SSD's?

If not something along the lines of this should do the trick (toss in a case you like for £30 +):

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £975.90 (includes shipping: £0.00)

The RADEON RX 5700 XT DUAL EVO OC is due to launch for £428.99 according to the OCUK store page and comes with a 3 year warranty as opposed to the 2 year for the Sapphire card, but I can't add it to basket as of writing this. Also consider budgeting in another £30-40 to toss in a 1TB HDD for storage etc.

Thanks for the specs guys. No monitor needed

So are you saying to wait for the RADEON RX 5700? Really wanted to get the build done this weekend... Are their any alternative cards?

There are already 5700XT's out, but they're the stock blower coolers which aren't as good as the AiB models due to come out, that said they are £40-50 cheaper. Out of those I'd just pick the cheapest personally, they'll still deliver a solid experience but you would be better served if you can wait it out a week or two.

Thanks, I'll have a look at a blower cooler edition. I imagine these will run louder and hotter? Also, I know nothing about PSU's these days, are superflowers/corsairs still a good choice?

You'll be hard pressed to beat the one I've linked in the above spec list, it's very high quality with a 10 year warranty. Unless you shop around and find something like a Superflower Leadex III or similar for less money I'd personally opt for the Gigabyte unit. If you do shop elsewhere this is a good reference for what to look for and what to avoid: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1045610-new-psu-tier-list/

As for the blower coolers, yes they will run louder and hotter.

Will that board work straight out of the box with the new ryzen CPU? Or might a bios upgrade be needed first?

The "MAX" b450 boards from MSI will work with the new Ryzen chips without the need to flash, so the listed one will work well for your needs.

Thanks for your help so far

Case is going to be the next choice. I don't mind going over £1000 for a nice case. I can stretch to £110 if needed. I know the meshify C is highly rated but I have this on another build and whilst it's a great case I want something a bit different. Would you have any suggestions? I'd like something with a glass side panel

No problem, happy to help!

There's a plethora of options in that price range for cases, I'll link you a few of my favourites though. Always been a fan of Corsair cases and the 400C is on sale at the moment, although I think I'd personally still be tempted by the Thermaltake View 21, that's a beautiful bit of kit:

You can find the white cases in different colours if white isn't you're thing.

Thanks for the suggestions. Why do all modern cases have poor airflow in the front these days? It might have to be the meshify c again

I honestly don't think you'll run into airflow problems with any of those cases. The front of the cases have fairly large vents to the sides.

The Meshify C is a lovely case though.

That Gigabyte psu has one downside, they have made the ridiculous decision to fit capacitors to every lead and they literally hang out of the plugs. It just looks absolutely gash and I really can't understand why they have done this as it completely ruins the look inside a pc. Don't get me wrong, it's a very good psu but they have let it down with these ugly capacitors. There is a review here and if you scroll down to the images of the cables you will see what I mean.

Just clicked on the product page and it appears that OCUK no longer sell it anyway.
