2070s and corsair air 540, talk about a tight fit !

Looks like you just got it in there, I'm looking at the MSI or EVGA 2 fan 2070 Super models as I don't think I can even fit the triple fan models in my case at all.

I went for the 740 air which is just a bigger better version of the 540 and with the massive Red Devil cooler on my Vega 64 i still have 2 inches of clearance to the front fan. May have been a better option for you although you did get it in there so not a problem.

This is why I don't like small cases.

Good one! I can not put my Air 540 on the desk, On the floor it does not allow my legs under the desk. Where could you put a bigger case?

I am planning a 2080ti in mine at 327mm (320mm max) apparantly the gaming x trio just about will squeeze in but really i wanted clearance for an AIO 360mm plus 25mm Noctua plus 330mm gpu clearance. I need about another 100mm tops.

I have mine in my cupboard :p.

Used to have a lian-li wgx but just couldn't fit that many card sizes apart from FE in most cases without airflow or sizing limitations especially with WB. My trusty 900D fits pretty much anything.

Then i need extensions for usb and my monitor i honesltly thought about downsizing to a laptop because the Air 540 can be a bane. I must say though mine with the Demc filter looks new i can not believe the dust the op has in his case. That really is bad OP!!!

I've got mine (as in sig) on my desk, but it's a big desk. :)

That looks ok to me. I have the office in a fairly dusty room at present and have to concede time has to be spent staying on top of the dust build up. I love the case far better than slimmer units or cramped small form factors.

i thought the dust levels were pretty good lmao, i blow it all out every month or two, and its raised off the floor :/

Blowing is not enough but i am hesitant to reccomend people use a hoover either. When dust gets sticky it stays my case looks new after four years lol. I rub down the fan blades and rubber gromits and the case metal with a dampish optical fibre wipe which is antistatic but lint free would be good as they hold the dust. This and demcfilters totally saved my case i am gonna hold on to it for my next build so it might be here in four years time easily.

The worst thing when it builds up, Prevention first but compressed air the amount you need will probably blow the cpu cooler away.

by blowing it I mean I use this

How big is that GPU? I had a 780GHz in my Air 540 which is a fairly sizeable triple fan GPU and had way way more clearance than that - with my dual fan 1070 there is a good 4 inches clear.

It’s not too bad and for me well worth it as it is a 100% silent system and there is next to no dust. Think I have 4 10m cables and you cannot tell any difference to using even half metre ones. No difference with my M+K in a usb hub.

With regards to dust i used to use an air compressor. There just isn’t enough pressure behind an air duster or an air can for radiators. Rest such as fans etc I remove and clean down periodically but quality filters do help greatly as you suggested.

just got my new card and oh lordy the msi version is absoutley huge! 780ti and 980ti for comparison, luckily its touching the fan bracket and not the blades so im just about ok, also I could not believe the weight, the 980ti was 880g the 2070s is a whopping 1.5kg !!!!

Tbh that msi gaming x trio is just a massive gpu to big if I’m honest I wish I would have double checked before buying mine. I have the 2080ti version myself and in my Corsair 500d case after I brought it I didn’t think it would fit I have had to remove all my custom hard tubing though and move the pump Rez combo above the gpu and it nearly fits in the config I had it before I was using my spear be quiet cpu cooler till I could properly sort it out
https://imgur.com/gallery/VaPNgF7 There is just enough room but a pain in the arse if I ever have to remove it :)
