Hi, I'm currently using the Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 with my PC. I have the opportunity to grab an Asus Rog Strix 11GB 1080 ti for a very good price.

My question is quite simple, would taking the 1080 ti be a step forwards or backwards ?

I am right now using an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X cpu if that helps any, along with 32GB of 3600 Ram.

A friend is willing to let me have the 1080 ti for £280 which having looked around is something of a bargain. I know the card has been looked after and never overclocked etc.

Just thought I'd pop back to say again thanks for the advice. I got the 1080 ti and well it blows the Vega 56 out of the water ( I did manage to sell the Vega for a little over £200 which was a nice surprise ). I did have to change the fiber optic cable which I believe is a common issue with the lighting on the Rog Strix. I also replaced the thermal paste with some MX-4 just because I could.
I'm now wondering if this is as good as it is then the 2080 ti must be some beast, time to start saving !!

Cool story, glad you are happy with your new card :D

The only issue was the faded fibre optic, that was soon fixed by eBay, £4 and about ten minutes of time. The card itself functions perfectly. My only other problem now is persuading my wife that a 2080 ti is a good thing :)

Great deals you got there for both the 1080 Ti purchase and the Vega 56 sale.
