Loot Crate Files for Bankruptcy

That's bad news, I've been waiting for my next fallout crate, which has been delayed twice, maybe 3 times now.

The crates are good, but customer service has always been poor, and the delays have always been ridiculous.

How do you screw up with 250,000 paying subscribers at the point of going bankrupt.

Greedy fingers or incompetence turning the balance sheet red.

Have you seen how many different crates they have? There's 29 different crate types on the website at this moment... Most of which have licensed material in, so the licensing fees will be pretty hefty just to start with. Add to the custom designs for each box, production costs and so on.

Yeah, it's not good that they're shutting down, but I'm not in the least bit surprised.

Happened with Nerd block a few years back as well. Shocked LC lasted this long, at the time nerd block went under it was quite public knowledge loot crate were struggling.

I've used both services in the past as well as Geek Fuel and Zbox. You get some quite unique items and anything you don't like can go on ebay and more than pays off the cost of the box.

Is this the same as "Bag of Crap" that Overclockers did some unboxings years ago? Think it was £5 a pop and you got given 5 random items. There was a huge thread on here about it describing the items that people on here got. It was a big gamble on what items you got.
