Right handed, fork in right hand as its the one doing most of the work.
I lay the table of that way too, mostly to annoy people that have them the wrong way around.

Thing is the knife in the auxiliary tool when eating - so why hold it in your primary hand? it is the fork that is doing most of the work getting your food from the plate to mouth!

I see I'm not the only one :)

Right handed.

Spoon in right hand. I'm not allowed to use a knife or fork since 'that' incident.

It’s not though. All the fork is doing is stabbing the food and taking it to your mouth. The knife is used to cut, distribute and add controlled layers of condiments, also you guide food with the knife onto the fork (depending on the food) and keep the knife clean by swiping it against the fork!!

Side question, when eating a burger, if you put it down at any point, do you put it down bottom bun to plate or top bun to plate? I always go top bun to plate, essentially upside down but the way I pick it up I essentially flip it as it goes to my mouth. Really winds my wife up!

Indeed, a much greater degree of control is needed for knife work

I guess everyone is different but I use my knife about 1/3rd of the time while eating compared to the fork.

Maybe because I've spent a lot of time doing electronics, etc. even from an early age but I have no problem using a knife with precision in either hand. I'm not fully ambidextrous I can't write easily with my left but I can mouse with the left if necessary just as well as the right.

Left handed.

Right handed knife when eating, left handed knife for all other uses like food prep.

I do this too. When it comes to scissors your guess is as good as mine, they tend to end up in which ever hand was closer. Pen? Left hand every time. Mouse? Right hand but can lefty that too.

I’m right footed when it comes to football though.

cutting up food when you're eating doesn't need a lot of precision so can see how you could do either by force of habit but the knife hand is surely the most demanding... looks like most people stil use their dominant hand when cutting veg/using a jigsaw etc tho...

Do the people who use a fork in their right hand also put the toilet paper on the hanger the wrong way (hanging against the wall)?

More accuracy with my right hand so that is the hand I want approaching my face with a sharp object (including rusty spoons). Left hand only needs to sustain a forwards/backwards movement on food pinned down by the right hand. Wouldn't pick up a sandwich or grab a handful of sweets with my left hand to eat normally so I see nothing wrong with using a fork in my primary hand.

I'm a bit of a mixture.
Left hand writing/eating. Fork left, knife right. Like others have said, when doing simple cuts on a plate you don't need that much control/precision.
Plus it never made sense to have to switch hands just to cut, then swap back around to eat..:confused:
However I do hold the kitchen knife with my left hand to prep food.

Snooker/pool left hand. I usually drink holding my cup/bottle with my left. Use scissors with my left, but only using right handed scissors. I've tried using left handed scissors before and that's just strange. :D
Hold a gun/archery and play badminton right handed. Mouse is also right sided.

Right footed.

I'm a bit weird!

I'm right handed.

Fork in left, knife in right. Mainly because cutting food requires strength and my right hand is stronger.

This guy gets it, but gets it wrong on the burger bun

but I can mouse with the left if necessary just as well as the right.

I would imagine 99% of males with internet access have trained up this skill :D

Right handed, but rarely use a knife, unless I’m eating steak, chops, or something that needs serious cutting, and then I’ll cut the meat into bite sizes, put the knife down, and use the fork only, (with my right hand).
If eating a chili con carne, or a curry, I’ll use a fork only, if eating meat in slices, chicken, turkey, duck, roast beef or lamb, for example, I use a knork, a combination of a knife and fork, with tines, but the outside tine can be used to ‘cut’ through the meat, potatoes, and any vegetables on the plate.

Left handed, I eat with my fork in my left hand and knife in right hand, however, I am a chef too, and i use a knife with my left hand for any knife activity.
