Good replacement for 1080ti?

Isn't that a email from the shop you bought it from and not for gigabyte?

I think you had your pants pulled down there.

As if gigabyte would ask you to send cash ina box lol

What res are you playing at? My 2070 Super is surprisingly capable at 4k (48-60fps in AC Odyssey). That's with the Palit Jetstream - haven't played with memory OC yet. It's good enough that I will probably wait for big Navi / 3700 to upgrade.

well i'd hope you'd wait until at least next generation to upgrade ur card given its from this gen...

OP I'd get a 2070s or a second hand 2080/1080ti. Whats ur budget in £?

That was Gigabytes RMA department... Amazon was the seller and told me they have nothing to do with it as the sale was was two years ago (fair enough) So yes. Gigabyte told me to put cash in a box.

I have a screenshot of the email but have no idea how to upload it. When I had an EVGA card they arranged collection via courier all for free, it was amazing. Gigabyte ask for cash in a box.

About £450/500, years ago that would have gotten me the cream of the crop, nowadays it gets me the budget card lol. Im looking at the KFA2 2070 super (looks a good deal) and the 5700xt but not the blower ones, the sapphire one looks ok. not been with AMD for years GPU wise, they look nice, but not sure if it's worth sticking with Nvidia.
I would rather get new ideally, been burned with used parts many times.

Thats the link anyway to the screenshot.

Never before have i had a big company ask me to send cash in a box, also never had a company ask me to pay for a damaged item to be returned to be fair, maybe I have just been lucky that I have always had companies that pay the shipping fees before. just assumed that was standard.

EVGA seem to offer the best warranty, Zotac are good too.

Is a decent card if you fancy AMD

Yeah thats the AMD card i was looking at, just seems a bit inconsistent with framerates in games (the 5700xt in general)

Heavily leaning toward the KFA2 2070 super, looks a bit cheap from the pictures (well it is cheap. lol) but I had a galax 970 before and it ran really cool and super fast, never had any issues with it.

Would be nice to have an all AMD system though and the 5700xt is cheaper.

the only real upgrade is a 2080Ti. Everything else is a sideways jump really. The 2080 Super is slightly better than the 1080Ti while the 2080 and 2070 Super are similar performance to it. Of course the Turing cards all have Ray Tracing and come with two free games.

If your budget is £500 then I think the 2070 super is the best choice. You could save a little money by getting a 5700XT and have an all AMD system, it really depends on what games you play and what resolution you play at. There isn't much of a difference in performance between the two cards apart from a few outliers. Just ask yourself do you want to save a few quid and put that towards a better card next year or do you want to try out RTX? Pick the choice that appeals to you most.

Freesync range of my monitor is only 40-60hz, so I'm definitely going to need a replacement next gen if I want to play Cyberpunk at 60fps....

No, thats the email from Gigabyte themselves. That was from the RMA department.
That is bloody outrageous. Is it even legal?. I have a gigabyte GPU and really happy with it. I always look at gigabyte 1st because I heard they were up there with the best for customer service (not used em myself) but if your experience is what I can expect I may look elsewhere next time
I would be interested to hear gigamans thoughts on your experience

Glad it's not just me that thinks it's outrageous. It's really put me off their products tbh.

I might find the other emails out later as well as they really tried to discourage me from sending the board in. (the customer service team not the rma team from the email above) also took ages for them to get back to me as email is the only option.
Whereas Asus have live chat etc and I can call them.

I love the products. Just hate the experience I had. (also the software side lets them down)

CC @GIGA-Man can you please have a look at the above? He says that he had a dying aorus 1080ti but the RMA service asked him to put £15 with the broken card when sending it back to you.

To the OP, get the card replaced, Gigabyte will most likely give you a 2080, seems a lot better than dropping £500 on a side grade.

No that was for a dead motherboard, Im not even going to bother RMAing the 1080ti after that.
I'm not sure if it would qualify as it's still functioning, by slowly dying, it just runs hot constantly, but that was known from that start sadly, it runs within safe temps but it throttles every now and then because it just crosses into "slightly too hot" I mentioned it to them when i bought it and was just told that was it functioning normally.
What absolute ********.

2070 super is not worth it, don't fall for the hype. Nvidia prices are filthy. Enthusiast cards are just to expensive this generation, dont get conned.

Best value is 5700XT

2070 super seems to beat it i every single game, and the KFA2 is cheaper... also has more features. I think the 5700xt looks great, but the KFA2 beats the **** out of it.
