If you read what the judge says then you might undersand why it is harsher than other people not in the public eye may have got.Jail and 2.5yr ban, seems like a harsh punishment compared to what other people seem to get for the same offence.
Usual rubbish from the BBC repeated by the resident spambot.Well thats a click bait title and a half.
He played more games for 8 other clubs than Liverpool..
In exactly what way "rubbish" repeated by the BBC?Usual rubbish from the BBC repeated by the resident spambot.
he's probably referring to the Liverpool bit. which is a fair enough statement to make. saunders only played 1 season, from memory for Liverpool. but i guess, they being the most famous club he pulled on boots for, it makes sense to use their name to draw more attention to the story. In exactly what way "rubbish" repeated by the BBC?
Did Saunders not fail to agree to a breath test? Were the BBC responsible for any of this?
Did Saunders not plead guilty?
Was the Judge wrong in his description of Saunders as an arrogant man?
Was the deterrent sentence of someone in the public eye unreasonable?
I don't think that makes it harsh, it makes other cases where they may get less too lenient.Jail and 2.5yr ban, seems like a harsh punishment compared to what other people seem to get for the same offence.

Sentencing for refusing to provide a sample is as tough as sentencing for the highest level of excess alcohol while driving (with a starting point of 12 weeks' custody). Most excess alcohol cases featured in the media involve far less alcohol, where custody isn't an option.Jail and 2.5yr ban, seems like a harsh punishment compared to what other people seem to get for the same offence.

Then I'm not sure why you thought it was harsh. The Judge said,I read the whole article before posting my response.
A deterrent sentence is more harsh/severe than a 'standard' sentence."Throughout these proceedings you have shown yourself to be arrogant, thinking you are someone whose previous and current role in the public eye entitles you to be above the law.
"In fact the opposite is true - someone in the public eye should expect a deterrent sentence when they flout the law."

Yes but carelessness is not intent which is refelected in the sentence. Willfulness + Arrogance + Publlc Persona = MoreYou get less for death by careless..
