dont want to seem daft asking given the new tech difference, but i know sometimes laptops are usually weaker than a desktop.

so basically i started college yesterday, im doing level 3 game development, only done the introductions so far obviously, so designing isnt yet, but i was having a nosy at what computers they use(best in the college) and they using old ZooStorm systems on a skylake platform, so they have..

i5 6400
8gb crucial(single)
gtx 1050
500gb hard drive(not going to assume its ssd)

which i thought was surprising for the course in hand.. anyways i want to make sure my laptop can do the same level if not better for when i do the work at home.

its the Asus Tuf 505 as per sig.

What CPU is in the laptop? im assuming its going to be a 2600 or something similar?

I cant imagine you would be doing anything too demanding anyway, as a coillege course they need to make sure the hardware requirements are low enough to give accessibility to all colleges.

no its the Ryzen 5 3550H APU thats in my laptop and yeah i know they wont do anything too demanding or least beyond their machines capabilities, we will be making 2D first, just i got my laptop for course reasons over just gaming, obviously i was unaware of their tech used, but i wouldnt have got better for what i paid, i chose 120hz + freesync over a version with a 1050 and lesser screen performance.

Yeah you will be dandy with that spec :)
Good luck with the course and if there is one peice of advice i can give to you its to do the work when you get it and not the day before its due XD
