WHICH RTX SUPER CARD? GIBBO RECOMMENDS ASUS EVO OC CARDS!!!

People not tempted to wait it out for 3000 series?

I'm trying my best to wait it out and get something around April 2020 when Cyberpunk launches.

I wouldn't spend over £500 on a 2070 Super.
I am waiting. Not paying £500 for that class GPU when 7nm proper RTX cards are around the corner.

Plus with PS5 is not too far now I can see that taking away from a lot of GPU sales if they price the 3000 series silly/late.

Yes. 7nm should mean more die space for more RT cores.

Still doesn't stop me looking tho. :D

Same here mate. Not that I would not like one, if I was retired and had a lot of time on my hands I would buy one. But no rush, rather wait and spend money more wisely. Also something about getting a card that is on a new shrunk process with new architecture at the start of is life cycle. I did that with the 1070 :)

Another thing, half the fun is in the desire of things. The excitement of waiting etc. I remember how much I was excited about my Alienware laptop many years ago which was super expensive and had two graphics cards in it etc. But after a few months the magic worse off and I sold it. Lol.

Lol. Yea. It makes more sense to just wait this one out. Your buying the 2000 for RT and if we are honest you need more than a 2080ti to really enjoy it.

On the cusp of a die shrink. 7nm should be epic. I wont mind splurging £700 on a GPU if that was the case. But not now.

While I completely agree, I'm not prepared to wait another year while running what is basically a single GTX 680 at this point xD

I should be able to get £300 or so for it next year if the performance jump really is that significant, but at least I'll be able to enjoy it until then :)

Yea. Doesn't apply to all of course. Individual needs.

wont the die shrink be another arguement for an increased rrp?

if they've tried to justify this generations price-hike due to RTX - with R&D costs and manufacturing yield.
next gen, with a die-shrink, there will be a reduction in manufacturing yield (and more R&D costs), so more $$$ for an equivalent card?

I guess it can go either way. Depends. Usually progress = more for same (so net result is more for less)

We need competition.

But I think what RT is needing right now is a die shrink so we can get more RT cores.

I expect they will utilise the die shrink to reduce die sizes, so maybe not quite such an increase in core count.
The TU104 is already 545mm and that is the second tier chip, they certainly wont want to be producing a 754mm 7nm+ chip, not until the process has matured somewhat anyway.

This. The die sizes will likely be quite a bit smaller. If it was the exact same size then ok, but I doubt it will be.

Overclockers are really peeing me off lately with their pricing. The windforce 2070 super was £499 yesterday and the Super OC was £510 odd. Super OC has now sold out, so they know people will be going for the windforce. Plus, Nvidia are now bundling COD: MW with it. So of course OC decide to bump up the price of the windforce by nearly £50 to £548.99!

This is disgraceful gouging. They are among the most expensive for that card now. All of their competitors are cheaper than them. How can anyone carry on shopping with them when they obviously do not respect their customers when it comes to pricing? I think the SSD I ordered today will be may last order until they sort it out. Look at the shenanigans they've pulled with 3900X pricing. £480 launch price, now £560!

Well, as the actress said to the bishop, oranges are not the only fruit.

AMD is gearing up for the pc gaming killer the ps5 and xbox scarlet, they got no time for the paltry highend gpu market.

It must be less than 1% of what the PS5/Scarlet revenue will be. Let NV rip off the mugs and whales for £1500 a time, get your cards in millions of consoles instead. I know which market I would be looking to dominate.

Way too true. It's easy to look at PC cards and see Nvidia dominating, but overall gaming will be very, very firmly in AMD's favour.

If only Nvidia had a hat in the console market...maybe they should partner up with a company like Nintendo as that Switch seems to be doing well.

Yup, just built a new pc myself and shopped elsewhere and saved hundreds, one time I bought everything here, now nothing, the pricing is just pure greed.

They are expensive compared to their competitors for sure. I have just saved about £250 on a new rig shopping else where. They are price gouging more and more these days.
