As the title suggests guys, I’m looking to house my new server in a tempered glass mid tower. HDD bays or space for mounting is important (6-8 HDD’s).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Would like it to be minimalist. Really like the NZXT H500 series so if there is anything similar that’d be perfect.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies guys the R6 does look good.

May be tempted to go for it and vinyl wrap it with a dark grey or metallic grey vinyl. My main rig is in a Silverstone FT03 titanium which I’ve become quite accustomed to.

Any other suggestions?

Cheers again

Phanteks P600S is probably slightly less minimalist and I'm not as much of a fan of the looks personally, but technically can fit more drives although only supports 4 x 3.5" out of the box, it can go up to 10 3.5" with additional brackets that you can get.
Drive bays:
4x 3,5" (internal; uncoupled; + 6x optional via separately available HDD bracket) - The additional brackets are these ones : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/phanteks-3.5-stackable-hdd-brackets-duo-pack-cm-02n-pt.html
3x 2,5" (internal)

Edit:

Or the Dark Base 700 maybe - you can turn the RGB off. 7x 3.5" drives.

There's a gunmetal grey version available for the Fractal Design R6:

A bit difficult to see from the photos, but people seem to like it. I've not seen it in the flesh though.

Thanks again man, three good options there. I’m away to watch a few YouTube videos to get a better idea of how they look. As you said, it’s hard to see some of the details from the photos. The P600s looks great but I wonder about the plastic intake areas around the front.

On first look I think I like the Dark Base the most. I’m running a Dark Rock Pro 4 and have other Silent Wings fans already. The OCD in me says that’s the one to go for :p

Sounds like this the start of a new influencer career!

Lol after watching a video on the Dark Base 700 I’ve decided it’s pretty ugly - a short lived career and probably no free fans! :(

It’s a shame, the front IO and air intake ruin so many good looking cases. I do wonder whether the majority of people need a 3.5mm headphone and microphone socket and two USB 3’s. A single power button with activity light would do me fine :)

I’m leaning back towards the Fractal R6 in grey.

I had a look at the Jonsbo cases last night. Some of those look great but HDD support is limited and airflow looks pretty poor.

The 678C arrived yesterday :)

On unpacking it last night I thought what a stunning looking case. I wasn’t sure about the front panel with it being plastic but it in person it feels solid, heavy and has an incredibly satisfying magnetic closure. The window is the same - feels like opening and closing a high end AV cabinet more than a PC case.

Since my first impressions have been so positive I can’t help but feel the reviews (especially those on YouTube) have allowed the pricing to overshadow the build quality and the other positives I see. With enough space in the front, top, bottom and rear of the case for multiple fans, as well as having space to mount fans on the HDD cages pulling air from the front, the potential for airflow is great. I’m not sure why none of the reviewers could see this.

If you don’t want or need the HDD cages a piece of acrylic could be used to cover the holes left behind. A few videos mention no spare bay covers which is correct, but I’m thinking why would anyone want to ruin the minimalist look with lots of individual covers. A £10 sheet of black acrylic is going to look better and doesn’t seem like much if/when needed.

It’s going to be perfect as an Unraid box which is why I bought it.

Would I pay full price for it? Hard one to answer because on one hand £170 ish is ridiculous amount of money but on the other it feels absolutely solid and is one of the few cases which looks great while having everything I need.

I plan to do more building and testing this weekend but so far I’m really happy with it. While price is an issue, I’d say ignore the other negatives if you’re considering buying one.
