£2000 Gaming PC ideas please

Guys thanks for the input.

So i have put this together. (main priority 4k Gaming, minimal streaming, minimal video editing)

Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3600 MHz C18, Enthusiast RGB LED Illuminated Memory Kit - Black
£163.99

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GAMING OC 11G
£1,099.99

Corsair Carbide SPEC-OMEGA RGB Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX Gaming Case - Black

£313.00

£2,085.87

Do i require AOI cooler for CPU at all?

Can i make any final tweaks bring down price at all? Also, do i need thermal paste i am planning to build myself?

Many thanks. Looking to buy within next 24 hours.

Dam forgot the Meltdown, Spectre and now ZombieLoad. Read somewhere that the fix for this can impact performance up to 40% right? Then their is the beefy cooling you need... Would be interested in understanding the power consumption problems more. We talking about the TDP turbo power violations or just general power to heat ratio? Then again the 3900x has a problem with to much voltage at idle no?

Dam this has got a bit side tracked. For day to day use with gaming and some light workloads both are "excellent" cpu's.

Have a read up on the pro's & cons of both and decide what you want but I really cannot see you being disappointed either way.

Bit like trying to compare a Porch to a Ferrari, there will be for and against for both. I myself would be chuffed to own either one.

gaming wise, doesnt really effect you. workstation wise ... AMD

@Ben28uk

decent £30 air cooler should do the trick . if you want to go AIO then 240 would easily be enough

better cases for Corsair and keeps corsair theme still!!

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £216.10 (includes shipping: £13.20)

money saved with 220t- push from Gaming X to Aorus Elite motherboard!!!

**keep stock cooler and see how you get on, save up a little bit if you want AIO

£109 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the 220t and ram above is £112 saving! - almost enough for RGB AIO! ;)

Think this guy is trolling a bit now. He private messaged me and I have done my best to help him over the last few days. I've already showed him this
regarding the Corsair Carbide tower yesterday.

Guy reviewing hit 100c in under a minute doing Prime at stock on a 240mm AIO! Cinebench like 82c at stock. I had however before all this linked him 3 mesh front panel cases with a brief explanation on airflow. After seeing the case he picked I went into more detail about thermal throttling yet despite this he asked the same question on here?

This is now a total 7 cases that have that been recommended to him mmm.

To answer your question though, doesn't matter what cooler you run with that tower, its going to be crap. But, if that was the only tower available in the world, I would run a 360mm AIO with 6 SP fans in a push/pull + 2 140mm fans in the top as exhaust. So the AIO with custom added SP fans and the 2 140mm fans in the top about £300 worth of cooling...

Or.... maybe, just maybe, get a different case as suggested by 2 people now?

Jason stop raging please.

As you can see the same message was put directly to you and my thread. I'm taking onboard everything you all say as your the experts and I haven't bought anything yet and now changed the tower. The tower had good reviews from what i saw on different sites that is why i originally selected it to get your opinions.

I have gone with Orbitalwalsh AMD Ryzen 7 3700 option and looking to buy tonight.

Not so much as raging, more like frustrated concern.

Happy to hear that you did take our advice and switch the tower. You will be very pleased with that decision in the long run!

I hope you enjoy your new rig!

Thanks!

One final check before i hit the button, are you all happy this is an excelleent rig for the cash any dont need to make any changes?

I'd get the Corsair. UK RMA, replacement units shipped from UK, Seasonic RMA centre is UK but units sent from Germany.

Also cheaper and still 10 he warranty and good quality :)

Heads up, seems with the 220t, AIO will only work up top with low profile ram ! If mounted at front may cause issues with longr cards
