Hello!,

I am currently looking for some new ram. I currently have the crucial ballistix sport lt 3200 in which i got for £70. I got it due to a lot of people easily getting it to 3600mhz at CL16. I know nothing is guranteed but mine will only ever hit 3466mhz, no matter the settings!.

I have tested my IF on my 3600 and set it to 1900 IF clock with stock speed ram, played games, no audio corruption or boot issues of any sort.

So, here i am looking for an alternative.. or could simply try another kit but yeah. I be interested to here your recommendations!. :)

We been having good fortune gambling with the viper steel 4000+ sets, (only go for the 4000+ ones as the ones below that are not B-Die).

I've learnt that having 4 ranks of ram (not sticks, ranks) out performs 2 ranks though, so if you want absolute fastest you will need x4 sticks of 8GB or x2 sticks of 16GB.

If you dont want to spends on 32GB, which can be had for 260£ +/-, then the 16GB two stick kits are worth it, but only if you can get them for less than the 8 pack b-die kits.

Start looking at the patriot viper steel 4000+ kits and follow them... see if a deal comes along.

Yeah, i read through the read and seen only good things about them. The lowest i have seem them for 16GB (8 gig sticks) is £125 (4000mhz)

I stand corrected.. £105 for the 4000mhz (x2 8GB sticks) and £2 for delivery, so £3 difference between the two :P (8Pack 3200mhz 16gb)

Pull the trigger mate. Especially if you can push your IF to 1900 and go 3800 cl 14.

Well, it seems it will fit with a dark rock pro 4 so long as i move the fan up a bit. It seems like this is the best ram esp' for this price range. :)

I know silicon lottery plays a hand here but how hard would it be to get it at 3800 at CL14? :)

Threepwood above has hit those speeds. Ive got a 3600 non x too. I’m still at 3733/1866 cl 16 @ 1.35v. My board/bios or cpu is holding me back I think. I’ve managed 3600/1800 if cl14 now with no errors but at 1.51v. I prefer the lower v’s and I actually get slightly better latency in aida64.

Oh, what board you got?. I got a 3600/Gigabyte x570 elite here. :)

ASRock x570m Pro4. Had to go matx for the living room pc, and I took the gamble it could do the job. Only planned on overclocking the ram not the cpu so I thought it would do. I was wrong . Hopefully a new bios might help but I’m happy enough with performance atm.

Yeah, Gigabyte is constantly coming out with new bios for XMP profiles and ram. I am sure it can only get better! :)

P.S Just ordered it!. Lets see what i get. :)

Wow! That is a great price on the 8pack 3200! Gibbo said the 3600 and the 3200 8pack ram are both from the same bin, and only the 8pack 3866MHz+ kits are better binned, if only slightly.

I've got a feeling that these 4000+ patriot viper steel kits are around the same bin as those 3866MHz+ kits. Maybe just ever so slightly worse... because the 8pack 3866+ ram is one CAS lower than these.

Its good to know that the ram you get will deffo reach top infinity speeds though (ie more than 3600) but the price difference between these 4000mhz and 8pack 3866 is £40, and thats with the 8pack ones on sale.

That said; if you knew your infinity would only go to 3600 max, well... at £109 the 8 pack 3200 is a steal! :D

Good luck with the vipers man!

Yeah, i was torn between the two!. I mean they're both B-DIE but with my IF being stable at 1900 it pushed me towards the patriot viper steel kit. :)

I was looking in getting the g.skill trident Neo but now seing how good the viper is i am changing my mind.

Do the vipers come only in 2x8gb form or is there a kit that is 2x16? Stupid question but google sais only the first, and if it is it kinda sucks because i want 2x16 to get a 32gb setup.
