Which Gaming Laptop

I got the Helios but with the i7 in there. Great laptop but I find it loud!

Under load, yes. I can run WoW Classic on the 'auto' fan settings without any noise issues. CPU hits 70c and GPU is 50c - sat on a piece of wood to aid cooling. If I run D2, it's considerably louder, but I game with headphones so nise isn;t an issue for me.

yeah I feel like I should elevate the back on the laptop a bit to help with the air flow

Have just received a TUF FX505DV with an RTX 2060 & Ryzen 7 CPU. Interested to see how 'bad' the Ryzen 7 is only been a Quad core CPU. Cost £990 so very good for a current gen RXT GPU.

Thanks :) I have tried a few benchmarks against my Ryzen 7 1700x with a 1660ti desktop PC and the GPU is just a little bit faster in Firestrike and a few GPU benchmarks however the CPU in the laptop is a weak link, often 95% CPU usage to 40% GPU would indicate a CPU bottleneck, its a brilliant gaming laptop, nothing has struggled @ 1080p with everything at high. I have tried connecting it to my 4K TV and it performs well there. If anybody is interested I can post a few benchmark scores.

I can also recommend the Acer Predator Helios 300. I recently bought the 2018 edition (i7-8750h +GTX 1060 gb + 16gb ram) for just over £900 - Helped I got a lucky deal as I bought it in Canada at the time, but they don't go for much more here in the UK. Honestly such an amazing purchase! All with a 144hz IPS panel and great build quality, I couldn't recommend it more.
Playing the Witcher 3 (all high settings and textures on ultra) at 60+fps while sat in bed is truly amazing haha
