Hello all,

I have a older I5-4570 with 8gb ddr3 ram a 500w psu, 2tb hdd and 256ssd for windows, that would I need to make this a good gaming pc at 1080 ultra to high settings.

Or am i better off binning it and starting again, I have a budget of £300ish.

Many Thanks

What motherboard and graphics card you got?
No GPU,Mobo is a Asus H81l-plus

So i'd asume most of the £300 will be on gpu, but whats a good fit for my cpu and give me decent fps, I guess whats the current best bang for buck 1080p gpu atm?

I was thinking get a gtx 1650/60 or a rx570 and change the 8gb ram to 16gb ram, would that be a worth while upgrade and be decent for 1080 ultra?

The RX 570 is a pretty decent card for 1080p. Also not much point aiming for 'Ultra' settings as there isn't much visual difference between V.High anyway. Tweaking a few settings can drastically improve your fps.

Do we have a release date roughly, im thinking i'll hold out for one of these price dependant ofc.

paper launch yesterday , no date on stock landing though =/ have a feeling November will be a Busy month

also have to note value in the Pound currently - stocks normally bought 2/3 weeks before they get here. Like oil, hardware trades in $$$

Problem is you can wait forever. Im just upgrading a few old 1150 Haswell systems with whatever is available and good value. Large ssd's for game storage n such.

I missed out on two 8gb Sapphire Nitro 570's at £130 each.

Both lads are getting 240gb os ssd drives and at some point 960gb game ssd drives. Not sure if I should upgrade the 1050ti.

Ended up spending £160. Powercolor 570 8gb. Thats going in my lads 4770k with 16gb of ddr3, he plays at 1080p.

My other lad is going to be gaming at 1080p on an i3 4130 with 8gb of ddr3 and a 1050ti. I am tempted to buy an i7 and 16gb of ddr3 when people drop prices a little. It was doing ok at high settings on most games he plays.

Me I use a 4770k with a 1070. But want to move onto 1440p IPS.

Ive seen I can get a Rx580 for around £130 while the Rx570 is about the same price, So obviously thr 580 is better value, not sure if I should hold out for the 5500 to see price / benchmarks, Joys of building PC's.
