Well I am 6ft4 and have long legs (35” inside leg) so I don’t fit in most cars.

I currently drive a 2014 Toyota Yaris which is great although the seat could be more comfortable, I could do with more legroom and definitely need thigh support as my legs hang 6-8 inches over the seat and lumbar would be nice.

I have looked at other cars but cos of my requirements it pushes me to AudiA3 Sport, BMW 1 Series, or Mini Cooper S.

These models are specific as they offer the extendable thigh supports.....

All these are less than £12k as it’s my budget, I need a petrol cos of my 8k a year miles, 3 or 5 door doesn’t matter as we have another car.

Or am I looking at this wrong and look into fitting aftermarket seats to my current car.

Not sure as to what to do.....

Its not just the direct seat support, but the angle of the seats etc

Funny your tall but driving a small car. Small cars have far more upright seating position which means you end up with more pressure on your legs

Cant you look at something bigger, so you can put the sea down, and right back and get a better seating position?

That’s the plan but there aren’t many cars that offer the extended (thigh support) seats.

What’s more annoying is that I have to spend the top of my price bracket as standard cars don’t offer these type of seats...

Makes no sense. Why would an A3 have better seats than an A6, or a 1-series have better than a 5-series?

Answer, they don't.

Just get a bigger, better specced car.

I mean properly bigger, my inside leg is only slightly shorter than yours. If I drive a small car with a bad seating position then I get the same. I dont find these extra supports make much difference personally, spreads the pressure a bit more, but it doesnt fix the fundamental
IMO the extending thigh support is a plaster for a bad seating position. If you had a bigger cabin and could get a better driving position its far less relevant as you wont be applying the same pressure to the thighs

Am I only limited big cars then cos I don’t want a diesel.....

Been down this route of which fuel type, which car type, which gearbox type and now cos I’m a lanky git there’s nothing left to have.....

Think I’ll just stick a small car....

Doesn't have to be big, and they did sell big cars in petrol, just a lot less of a lot of them

Where is the big comfy barge?

well as big and comfy as he'll get with a petrol engine in budget withough going old

the Q50 is actually a comfy big thing to drive decent seats although personally i'd suggest one of the larger volvos but your either going older or over budget

That looks incredibly cramped.

From my experience, I've found Mazdas 3's are designed to fit 'bigger' people, and Vauxhaull Insignia seats extend to support longer legs (although I wouldn't wish a petrol one of those on my worst enemy.)
