Hello!

My teenager son wants to build a Gaming PC, he's spent hours on PC Part picker, you tube and overclockers configuring the below. I could do with some advice on whether this configuration stacks up, is there anything different he needs to be doing, any potential issues, any swaps he'd be better off with, firmware issues etc (I'm a novice at this). He's got about a £600 budget:

  • Corsair SP140 RGB PRO 140mm High Performance Addressable RGB Dual Fan Kit (CO-9050096-WW
  • ThermalTake UX100 ARGB Top Blower CPU Air Cooler - 120mm
  • Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey (TLGD416G30
  • Seagate 1TB BarraCuda 7200rpm 64MB Cache Internal Hard Drive (ST1000DM010)
  • Bitfenix Formula Series 450W 80 Plus Gold Power Supply
  • AMD Ryzen 3 2200G VEGA Graphics AM4 CPU w/ Wraith Stealth Cooler
  • Asrock B450M Pro4 (Socket AM4) DDR4 MATX Motherboard
  • PowerColor Radeon RX 570 Red Dragon 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
  • Corsair Crystal 280X Micro-ATX Cube Case - White Tempered Glass (CC-9011136-WW)
  • WD Green 3D NAND 240GB M.2 2280 Solid State Drive (WDS240G2G0B)
Any guidance would be well received!

Also that case is a hell of a lot of expense for style purpose when he would benefit from a better CPU. Currently speccing a suggestion

Something like this maybe?

Better CPU, Mem and PSU. I would get someone else to check this over from here as i've been out the loop for a while but this is just a suggestion.

He can spend £20-30 at a later date on RGB goodness but better to get some more Oomph than RGB to start off with.

This comes in at £609.88 before shipping and you get 2 x xbox game pass which can be flipped for £5 each easily

Intel , 9400 is faster then 2600, specially at 1080p gaming .

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £615.13 (includes shipping: £13.20)

PSU quality is double that of one selected. Bigger SSD, always add HDD later ! ( You big with SSD not small)

BUT wait til AMD RX 5500.. should drop prices. Might be able to go with ryzen 3600 and B450 then, maybe Rx 580 as well. It's aiming to be priced at GTX 1650 £150-70 which is where RX580 is at
