Help with a friends blank screen iphone - Photo retrieval

Hi.
My friend has a iPhone 6. Screen blank on it. Just a bright green line down it.

can’t see or do any button presses on it

unfortunately. Not been backed up.

he has a new iPhone 11 128gb which I’ve just set up for him with all his details. Apple ID etc.

Is there any way whatsoever to get photos off of the blank screen iPhone. Connected it to laptop iTunes. It picks it up. But then it wants me to press something on the phone. Which is of course impossible

Would enabling iCloud be an idea? For obvious reasons it won't happen again but also if the 6 is charged and powered on, even without the screen it should sync to iCloud.

Also you could just get a new screen for £20 and replace it

He had a new screen replaced a while ago.
He then plugged it into his Land Rover discovery and it went dead.

could be as simple as the screen connector has come out.

Possible. But there is luminous thin bright green line going down screen from top to bottom.

I fail to understand why anyone doesn't enable backups on iOS devices. It's there, it's built into the system (I thought it was enabled by default). They give you 5Gb of backup space which is plenty for the average person to backup their photos and it happens automatically without having to do anything.

I couldn’t agree any more with you.
Your spot on

No idea why he didn’t have it turned on.
A lesson to learn for him. Especially as he will of had photos of his kids on there as well.

On a side note. I have downloaded WhatsApp for him and that’s installed with his previous details. Perhaps some photos maybe on that ‘app’?

Just put another screen on it. It’s obvious that the screens failed. That line gives it away.

That’s what I thought.

I don’t believe the phone repairs version of “ of the car usb will have damaged it “
