A big part is the length of time the AIB's take to come out, I've been sat here today thinking should I just buy a 2070S rather than wait another 2 weeks, same with the 3900X, I'd have bought one today if they were available
I totally get it, I wouldn’t blame anybody for running out of patience and buying the alternative.

Is this still the advice? I'm considering returning to Nvidia and the 2060 Super seems to fit the bill but I will stay with AMD if it makes sense. I've just found their drivers a bit hit and miss lately
zero problems with amd drivers. have a 2070S and a 5700xt. if anything the amd software is far superior.
back in 2011 however....

Ok I'll start doing some research on those, then! Any advice on which cards are best? My budget is around £450.
I'd probably opt for the Pulse for £399 to be honest, you could spend closer to the £450 mark but I don't see much point in doing so.

Never had any heat issues with the reference XT but i have it inside a Air 540. Undervolted and hotspot temp is so manageable. So much so that i use the money for a waterblock to buy another reference navi instead.
