Threats with police by company I was purchasing from

I don't think *** *** have a UK base?

"It's worth noting before ordering, however, that *** *** has no direct UK logistical presence; items ordered through *** *** Global will be shipped from the US to the buyer's country, with the company's checkout system estimating the tax and other fees to be paid during customs clearance."
Andi.

I assumed not UK based due to this: "I purchased a motherboard and knew fine they took a while to ship items which I was fine with as I was away from home for two weeks."

Granted I haven't really read the thread.

They are base din Ireland but I believe their stock is held somewhere in the EU.

That lease time is for your local IP between your PC and the router, not your external IP provided by the ISP.

All I know it was that way then VM changed to 1 week for a while and it reflected in there and since then they have went back to 24 hours so unless MS changed something then changed back I do not know but at the end of the day not many home user have static IP's by default so they are talking nonsense to the OP.

Sometimes you can set a static IP and hog it, but most ISPs don't let you. Virgin dont at least :P

Why can't we name and shame again?
The company is post #24 and 'gaming'. Worst clues ever posted previously lol... never even heard of this site.. would never order from there looking at it.. not surprised this has all happened.

I found the retailer and the reviews on Trustpilot are shocking. There is no way I'd have bought from them.

Yes, but... Why can't we simply name and shame again? What is the rule?

Because OcUK pay for these forums. They don't want to pay to advertise another company. I agree in this instance it would seem advantageous to name and shame. But then it becomes tricky in future to judge where the line is. So it's just easier to put a blanket ban in place.

I looked up the company and it seems really confused. They are based in Ireland, but ship their good from elsewhere in Europe, they say they dont ship to the UK for some reason (way to cripple your business), but keep accepting UK customers and payment. Then getting bad reviews when goods dont turn up lol

I initially found a motherboard that was cheaper than everywhere else but about £50-£60. I did realise they had poor reviews but thought why not take a punt and have a Paypal backup.

Since when do most home users have a static IP, they are mostly dynamic but sticky in that you will keep it for a long time unless you unplug your router at time the lease runs out and only then loose it if another customer needs one.

You're confusing public and private addresses there in your image. Virgin's dynamic IPs are indeed very sticky, but you wouldn't see that looking at your local adapter when connecting to a SuperHub as your internal network would always be DHCP unless you start changing things yourself.

Sounds just like the kind of company I would steer well clear of.
