Does anyone here have an amazon Echo Show or Echo Speaker as I been thinking of buying either the echo show 5 or echo speaker for Christmas presents

But will these still work for stuff if the people I buy them for no have an Amazon prime account ? :confused:

I don't have one but a good old Google of the question returned an answer, no.

After reading some reviews on the echo shows they seem to be pretty crap as it sounds like you can't even get simple things like Netflix & Youtube on them

I have an Echo Dot. I use it primarily for helping me sleep. I don't have Amazon Prime so I guess it's use is limited to a degree. But it's alright still. Only issue I've had with mine is that one time it picked up something playing on a TV in another room (The TV volume was loud as it was playing music). The Echo started playing rock music at full volume. Luckily through a cheap Chinese security camera in my room (I live in a HMO), which I can control via an app on my phone, I was able to tell it to stop. The other residents apparently didn't know what the hell was going on as they knew I was at work, haha!
