Prefer a tablet over a laptop

But

All i want is movies, so must have wifi to connect to my home wifi

Also if (which I doubt) i need to use it away from home, still be able to connect to internet somehow (ie. Connect to my phone)

Also checking emails and browsing internet

Don't want to spend a lot , so 2nd hand preferred to keep cost down

Anything under £50 ?

I used to use a Hudl 2 for movies on the train. Sure it could take SD cards. Should be comfortably under £50.

Otherwise an Amazon tablet of some description?

Think I'm swaying towards a samsung now, as I now have a samsung phone and very impressed with it.

Also I think a 10.1" screen with a res of 1920 x 1200 and not the 1280x800 and making sure I get android 9 minimum . I'm currently keeping an eye of Ebay for a samsung galaxy tab A(6?) 2016 model so paying a bit more, if I can get one under £100 I'll be happy

While I personally prefer 1920x1200 over 1920x1080, note that the first one has an aspect ratio of 16:10. 1280x800 is also 16:10. If movies is your main bag as per OP, then you'll want a 16:9 aspect ratio.

i should have thought of that, thanks for the tip
although ive been thinking "ahead" and i think (want to stick with Samsung) i might just get a 2018 or 2019 Tablet A (10.5"/10.1) yes it would be 16:10 (like my monitor , and ive watched movies on it fine)

is there a comparison anywhere between the two resolutions and aspect ratio on a tablet ?
be a good idea to see the two in action side by side

I'm thinking of getting one myself to bung on the treadmill i think there is a £5 code around for more off.

Gift05 is the code but never worked for me only available to certain members.

Nice one - would you post on what it's like?

I'm in the market for a tablet for movies when travelling for work. Mainly Prime but also iPlayer and I went to load a specific VPN client for connecting back to my home firewall when overseas.

Well, its updated to latest, got chrome and gmail , it's just like my a70 phone, but a much bigger screen

So far I love it
Need to try the games I got and try some videos
