Hi,

Just wanted to check I've not missed something about issues and running an os on the WD green 240gb m.2 2280, so far I've hit nothing but errors when installing windows and then when I've finally got it installed it bsod and won't boot without errors varying from ntfs_filesystem to just plain failed to boot with no error message. Running chkdsk atm and so far spotted the message "the disk does not have enough free space to replace bad clusters".

Any suggestions beyond it just broke?

Does sound like there are parts of the SSD that are bad. Can windows format it and if so what does the install screen show the capacity as afterwards? It should be, if memory(!) serves about 236Gb.

Everything regarding the drive displays normally, can format etc it just will not succesfully accept a windows install. Furthest I got was first boot of windows which crashed. Completed the chkdsk fixed some errors supposedly but when rebooting to Windows asked to reinstall again. Also keep getting error when installing windows "Windows cannot install required files. Make sure that all fields required for installation are available and restart the installation error code (0x800701e3)" have already tried swapping ram etc and same errors making me miss good old 3.5" drives

Thanks for that have tried a few but have now got windows onto the non ssd drive no problems so will have more scope to test what's up with the ssd, only a few days old so may just be a replacement needed. Thanks for your help

You could try downloading and running Samsung's "Magician" software (LINK); I know your drive is a Western Digital drive but I believe that Magician will provide some information on it?
